I thought Nate Silver took them out back and shot them.

24/Hour News Cycle: All polls show a blowout for Obama, this isn't selling advertisements
24/Hour News Cycle: Lets start skewing polls to show a closer race to create controversy.

Fox News and PPP on behalf of DKos.

Nate Silver gives PPP a D lean of +0.5 this election, which lines up with this well.

2-4 Weeks Ago: Polls are infallible!

Now: Polls are totally fallible!

And you're going to seriously assert that Gallup is more biased than Rasmussen? You're going to say this as a liberal? Really?

PPP isn't conducted by DailyKos. They've been commissioned by DailyKos on occasion and are composed of Democratic pollsters, true. But they're independent and well-respected for their performance and accuracy the last few cycles.

True, but if subby had said that I'd have fallen asleep halfway through the headline. As it is, it's already 14 words. That's 11 words more than Herman Cain's tax plan.

No, you idiot. The argument from your friends on the Right had been to try to discredit 538 because they didn't understand such subtleties as math and polling and bias and sample size and party affiliation, but just "had a feeling" that Obama couldn't be leading. Do you see any polls reflecting the 7 point lead reflected in the unskewed polls site?

Please note that DailyKos actually had to fire it's former pollster (Research 2000) when they found their results were unreliable and found evidence that they might have been falsifying results. They actually prefer accurate results to comfortable lies.

It's true of most organizations, including FOX News. You don't have to worry about FOX giving fake results; they prefer abusing the real results from any poll that reflects the narrative in infographic form to spin it better.

It has a lot to do with people unfamiliar with statistics. If one poll says their candidate is up 3 and another says he's down 3, one of them has to be skewed, right?

I find data that is verifibly tracable to be unbiased and data that is abjectly made up to be biased.
I can see how you wouldn't understand the difference.

Today in the Home Depot parking lot I saw 5 bumper stickers. 1 was Obama/Biden, 1 was Dubya, 3 was for Bush/Cheney.
THe official home depot , waco,Tx poll predicts Bush will win by a landslide.

How would a poll like that deal with multiple Romney/Ryan bumper stickers on the same car? (I don't get it... Saw a car the other day that had three R/R bumper stickers, two of which were the exact same bumper sticker)

What's to white knight? The polling outfit they chose is doing well, which is what the article says. If anything, it would be more back patting than white knighting.

Why would I think DailyKos isn't biased? Markos doesn't think that.

I still don't get how you can conduct an accurate poll when you automatically rule out the 30+% of households that don't have a landline. No matter what methodology you use, that a huge overlooked group.

What the article means........statistics are basically BS and can be manipulated to say anything.

I detest Fox with a passion so great that I have banished The Simpsons from my life and will not pay to see any movies by Fox studios. Cable is unwelcome in my house because it is contaminated with Fox, and if I see Fox playing on a restaurant's TV screen, I walk out.

This said, Fox wants the Republicans to win, and its viewers are not well-served by happy-clappy Gallup polls skewing R and telling them what they want to hear. Similarly Daily Kos wants Democrats to win, and its members are not well-served by happy-clappy polls skewing D. And, in Fox's defense, they seem a lot less eager to cut off Obama's speeches than CNN is.

Definately poll fraud!

Subby, what's this "DailyKos" crap? The site is called "The Daily KOS" - KOS being an acronym for Keith Olbermann Show.
