To be fair, here in Panther country, we are a little sensitive about being the laughing stock of the NFL.

Coming from someone who is a pretty big supporter of his team, this kind of over the top bullshiat is ridiculous and should not be tolerated by other fans. If you see someone on your side being a prick step in and put a stop to it.

Its way more fun to chuck something at one of the agressors and see if you can't speed things up a bit.

Also, people in wheelchairs are notorious jerks as are Cowboy fans so I'm just going to assumethis guy had it coming.

Sounds like "Tank" is farking jackass of the highest order. It'd be nice to find out who he is.....

The owner of the bar sounds like a jagoff as well, why didn't he have "Tank" STFU and GTFO??

On Sunday, staff members asked Garrett Carnes and his party to leave, while they took Tank to another area of the restaurant.

Sounds like "Tank" was buddies with one or more of the staff, and the owner is now embarrassed.

Seriously, what kind of asshole does something like this? I've been to sports bars/restaurants hundreds of times, (some in enemy territory) and never seen what they're describing. Hell, I've ended up sharing a pitcher or three with the opposing team's fans more often than not.

Grew up a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan....OK, stop laughing. Anyway, living in Maryland in the 90s used to go to this die-hard Stiller bar (the Outta the Way Cafe) to watch Browns-Stillers, eat perogies, and drink beer. And it was great. The owner really appreciated us coming out and making it more like a real game, comped us some apps, maybe a pitcher. And guess what? His attitude carried over to the Stiller nuts who ribbed us and all, but it never got close to out of hand. Well, except when the owner would get really happy about a play and start slinging cans of Iron City thru the air, across the room. Instant sobriety test. Good times.

The owner of this CLT joint can play heartsick all he wants. He knew exactly what kind of atmosphere he had in his place -- seething, mean, and nasty -- and liked it that way.

I think your right. "Tank" isn't the name on his farking credit card. It's a nickname you give a regular at a shiatty bar.

I worked in that area a few years and I really tried to like that bar. But the food is shiatty and it had the weird regular vibe I could never get past. The place is a good candidate for that show Bar Rescue. It's never packed despite being in an excellent location with lots and lots of traffic. It has a huge deck that just screams come drink beer on me. If you have ever been to Charlotte we have the weather for that almost all the time. Every time I have stopped there are 8-12 blue collar types sitting at the bar still in their dirty ass work clothes.

That's usually how it goes down. Although most restaurant staff I've observed will get both parties to leave, which is also often not the "fairest" resolution.

Everyone on my block has Panthers flags outside. Funny how everyone's such a die hard fan of a team that isn't even of voting age. I'll throw a Giants one up to for this guy.

Guy's name is Tank, yet since I've been down here, I feel like a Giant at 6'2. These inbreds average 5'9. It's why they love Nascar, they too small to play other sports.

At least I'm in a part of Concord that they can't afford. Unfortunately, I have to drive through some of the trailer park sections to get to a store. Nothing like seeing 4 sheds jam packed with rusted shiat. And apparently school is optional down here, kids are home all day.

I'm a Cowboys fan who lives in the middle of Steelers/Giants/Eagles country. Any time I go to a bar I for a game I catch shiat for other fans. It's almost always good natured though. I have only had one time where a guy was just being a complete jackoff about it and everyone around him just belittled him for doing so.

Most fans of any team are good people and realize it's only a game. it's those very vocal few who give fans of a specific team a bad name.

Which is why I'm not just going to hear one side of the story, that plays up the "protecting your freedoms" angle as much as possible, and assume that it's 100% legit. Yeah, there are assholes out there, but the vast majority of trash talk is good-natured. I've worn opponent jerseys in other towns before and had some people give me sh*t but if you just smile and say "yeah, yeah, whatever; good luck to your team," they don't go any farther. If they did, I would expect for something like your story about everyone belittling him.

I think it's much more likely that he was talking sh*t back. As a veteran, I hate when people hide behind the archetype of noble defender of freedom. There's nothing particularly noble about the vast majority of people in the military.

And this, my love, is why after 13 years living in DFW I've never fully embraced the Cowboys. A lot of it is because I'll never, ever, abandon the Broncos, but a good portion is not wanting to put up with the BS that goes with being a Cowboys fan, either from the outside (as you describe) or having to wake up each morning wondering what pile of stupidity Jerry Jones is going to foist on me today.

I really do try my hardest to just tune him out, just as I do with Joe Buck. I only tune in when I really need something explained. I just really can't understand the derision. I'm a fan of this team. I'm not asking you to do the same. I'm not telling you to stop what you're doing & like my team. I just wanna wear my pretty blue stars. I want to hold my breath when Romo throws up a dragon. I want to punch my friend in the arm when DeMarco goes on a big run. I want to jump around like a fool when Witten catches it in the end zone. This is all I ask for. It's a game. I want to enjoy it. Shiat-talking is A part of it. It shouldn't be the MAIN part of it.

But this is the only place I really feel free to talk sports & support my team. I think that's pretty sad.

"No Cowboys Fans in DALLAS" and the people in Texas make fun of you for liking their team??

WHAT??

Sir, I call bullshiat. I don't feel sorry for Cowboys fans ANYWHERE

Cowboys fans should farking STAY in Dallas. What kinda asshat is born or raised in a rival team's city/region and openly and actively roots for a DIVISION RIVAL??

A dumbass idiot trying to stir up shiat everywhere he goes, that's who

Save your "Ostracized Cowboys Fan" act you jerk. Maybe the reason you get ragged on is because Dallas is full of annoying, phoney, fair-weather, bandwagon jumping Front Runners

Go soak your Tony Romo jerseys in tears why dont'cha

Di Atribe: The comments on that article are depressing. They're offended a veteran would be treated this way, which I suppose technically, I do agree with. But shouldn't they be offended that anyone would be treated this way?

And honestly, Cowboys fans are treated terribly. If any of you think we're all assholes, stop and maybe wonder why? I've sat at a table in a bar IN DALLAS in which I was the only Cowboys fan & took shiat from all of them. Not friendly ribbing. Anger. People snidely ask me all the time why I'm a Cowboys fan. I agree with what you are saying though. I'm deep in the heart of Vikings Country (Though there are some Green Bay and Chicago fans here) and wearing a KC jersey into Buffalo Wild Wings or some sports bar for game day can be a tiresome event. I usually ignore the failed jocks who try to start shiat, but thankfully a buddy I usually hang out with for game day is a deputy sheriff. He has only had to flash his badge a couple of times over the last year and tell the drunken failures that unless they want to spend the rest of the weekend in jail, sit down and don't open their mouth again. I have to say watching the drunks faces go from a smirk to a pale white, wide-eyed stammer is priceless.

\\Yeah, I know, but it's just a game and I like to watch Eric Berry, Jamaal Charles work the field.

Raiders fan here....i live outside of Nashville and I went to a Titans game a few years back when they played us....I met a lot of raider fans, but naturally I sat around Titans fans.

One guy a few rows down kept ragging on us...he kept yelling "Marcus Allen isn't coming out that tunnel boys" and every so often changed it up with a former raider great. He spent at least $100 on bear as I know he drank 10 that I saw. I just laughed at him...told him of my hatred of Peyton Manning he seemed to approve......I did want yell Steve McNair ain't coming out that tunnel...but decided against it.

I have been in fisticuffs with several wheelchair bound "badasses", and let me tell you, it ain't as easy as it would seem to be to get the better of some sit down jerk. They think they are so strong, with their over muscled arms, and fancy sugar ray like wheelwork. I usually go for the head, because the last time I tried to flip this fella by the legs, he just gave me a sledgehammer like blow on the back of my head. That's pussy fighting where I come from. In the heat of that particular battle I lost my wits, and began biting the guys calf, expecting that scream you usually hear when biting a "walker". I learned a lot that day. Go for the head. Go for the head.

Dude, why the fark would a Vikings fan give a rat's ass about the Chiefs or one of their fans? Are you hanging out at the retirement home when these badasses are farking with you, because they are still sore about the 1970 Super Bowl loss?

By the way. Just to clarify for our new pal Tank.

I was born 150 miles NW of Dallas. I have lived within that radius my entire life. I have been a Cowboys fan since 2001. I trudged through three 5-11 seasons, Head Coach Dave Campo, and the Quincy Carter era. Anyone calling me a bandwagon fan doesn't have a clue what a bandwagon is.

As a Titans Fan I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for that other guys dickishness.

I'd also like to point out that I think the Steve McNair jab is farking hilarious! Dude, you should have said it!
