Teknowaffle: I never really realized that foxes hung out in urban areas until I saw this guy 100 meters from the Reichstag in Berlin:

He was just bouncing around next to the Soviet War Memorial munching on some bugs he found.

Great framing and timing on that photo. At first I thought it was a posed painting, it has that look.

Thanks. Just my back up point and shoot and no additional editing. The fox did all the work.

There used to be a fox farm in the mountain tourist community where I used to live. It was fairly large operation and did well for many years up until the late 1960s. But then the owner died of a heart attack, and his wife, who was tired of the bloody business, simply opened up all the cages and let all the foxes out.

Some of the foxes were actually quite tame, and some of them were even adopted and given forever homes by mountain residents.

One tiny fox, said to be a favorite of the owner and his wife, used to sit on a boulder outside the farm and watch the cars drive by on the main road. The odd thing though, is that over fifty years later, people still report seeing that tiny fox sitting on that boulder over and over again.

We had a fox set up a den in an old shipping crate we were saving out back of our business in Huntsville's tech district. She raised several litters of kits in it, somehow we never used it until she moved on.

If it was one of us, she was really laid back and would amble past you a few feet away.

/Somehow water and food got stored out back, too

What do you mean an "urban" fox? Is that a dogwhistle?

Foxes by my parents have done the same a rabid one stole a womans purse and attacked a cop. He shot and killed it. Old college friend of mine lives in Colorado she has several foxes near her that escaped from a fox breeder that went under a few years back.
