Does he really believe this or is just trying to make others believe it?

In other words is he a megalomanic or a grifter?

I'm inclined to believe the latter more than the former, but that's part of it too. He must maintain this image that he is a multi-zillionaire, even though the evidence suggests that he's merely a few-hundred-millionaire. It's part of the reason why he went so apeshiat berzerk on Rosie O'Donnell when she (accurately) brought up his bankruptcies -- he can't allow any crack in that veneer.

Skarekrough: sendtodave: Wow, lot's of Trump schadenfreude in here.

I'm thinking you're just jealous of the man. After all, he's still Donald Trump, and you're still posting on Fark.

When you watch something like "Intervention" it's easy to point and say something like "Wow...I'm glad I'm not addicted to heroin" or "I'm glad I'm not chugging a bottle of vodka to get out of bed" or "I'm glad I'm not doing something I will regret later in life just so I can make a quick buck to feed my addiction."

When I see Trump I realize that I'm happy being who I am and that even if I were blessed to possibly have that volume of wealth and notoriety it would be very unlikely that I could possibly ever be that big of a douche.

It's life affirming to see someone fall from grace who has demonstrated repeatedly that they're a terrible human being. And what's better is that it keeps happening with him over and over again. Every time you turn around you're seeing one of the grand pillars upon which he has built just to demonstrate how great he is being pulled out from under him.

I'm too lazy to find and link the Mr. Show clip right now but I will never stop being shocked at all the people who think money alone makes one a better person. How little respect do you have for yourself to revere another human being just because of his bank account?

I've made my education and career decisions and have a pretty good idea where those decisions should take me. I'll never have the money that Trump has, not even close. Yet at half his age I know for a fact that I am and will be more than person than he ever will. And I can say the same for a lot of people who will show up in this thread.

That Puritan work ethic everyone reveres so much is to blame. Puritans believed that one's success in life was due to God's favor. Work hard and if God approves you will get material rewards. If God doesn't approve, you do not see success. In church they would sit ranked by wealth, the wealthiest closest to the altar.

Social darwinism is deeply ingrained in our country's DNA.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Examiner.com

Examiner.com is a media company based in Denver, Colorado, that operates a network of local news websites, allowing "pro-am contributors"[1][2] to share their city-based knowledge on a blog-like platform, in 238 markets throughout the United States and parts of Canada with two national editions, one for each country.[3][4][5][1]

I can't find this story on any legitimate news site. It's mentioned on HuffPo, also. I'm not even saying it isn't true, but I can't find a good source for it.

the source is a specific website focused on real estate news.

More Money = Better Than

By that logic, Trump is pretty much the worst person on the planet. He's so continually financially underwater that he's had more bankruptcies than you've had hot meals.

The only reason he has expensive shiat is that there are a lot of ways to avoid actually paying debts once those debts are measured in billions of dollars instead of thousands.

But somehow the Donald screwed that up

After watching his TV show a few times, I can understand why his businesses end up failing.......
