depmode98: How is it that near 50 percent of possible voters still like Romney??

Allow me to answer, dear sir or madam...

Nobody farking likes Romney. Nobody. Not even his own goddamn party. He did poorly in southern evangelical states. He lost South Carolina to Gingrich and almost lost his own damn state to Frothy McPooperpants. For a guy running on "inevitability" he sure had to deal with a revolving cast of clowns Republican voters were desperate to prop up in order to deny him the nomination.

And yet, every single registered Republican is coming out for Romney because a.) he's the white Republican and b.) because they just really hate Obama that much. John Kerry merely failed to inspire his constituency. Romney, on the other hand, has a constituency that actively dislikes him.

cameroncrazy1984: Wow. Romney's just gone full on "I'm just like Obama, honest!" mode.

Add on "but I'm the white guy!" and I think you've hit on Romney's late-campaign strategy. Sad part is, it might work.

Lost Thought 00: IrateShadow: HST's Dead Carcass: /next, the Right Wing will be casting their votes for Mitt Hussein Romney.

What the fark kind of name is Mitt anyway? It sounds like a nickname you'd give to your best friend's slow younger brother.

"Willard", his proper first name, polled as too elitist

It's also the name of a horror movie about, fittingly, a rat. Or more accurately, a man who could control rats.

Quite right. While is why Obama's closing argument in these last two weeks should include something to calm the rabid right down. Say something like, "Hey, Republicans, there there. Close your eyes. Listen to the sound of my voice. Everything's calm. Now...you don't hate me that much. You don't have to vote for the guy you disagree with. There there. We had some laughs. Let's see what happens. That Gary Johnson fellow seems like a good guy, right? He agrees with you, right? It'd be a shame if he spent all that money for nothing. Show him some love. It feels good to vote for a guy you agree with, right?"

I'm never in favor of encouraging people not to vote, but encouraging people to vote for a third party instead of against you is perfect fine!

Agreed. The fact that my taxes go towards funding the ridiculous bullshiat that comes out of Richmond galls and offends me. Let's become the 51st state with Fairfax as the capital.

I grew up in the F'burg area and we pretty much feel you all are your own state already.

I swear, we're one week away from him delivering a stump speech and using the phrase "state level ObamaCare" to describe his health care reform in Massachusetts.

vartian: Better than "What He Said, But From A White Guy."

I think that would be the slogan for part of the debates.

He basically said that about Obamacare at one of the debates- he said he'd repeal it and put in place something similar to what he did in Massachusetts!
Apparently, cribbing from the president and then saying you'll do the same thing, but louder, is what you do when you're desperate!

HST's Dead Carcass: Three Crooked Squirrels: So . . . he's out on the campaign trail stumping for Obama? Is that what's going on? After that debate and now this slogan, Obama really should work Romney's endorsement of him into his speech.

This would be geniunely the snarkiest and trolliest thing Obama has done this campaign season.

LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

Those of you with Twitter (I refuse to join) should post something to Obama's twitter feed about Romney endorsing him as candidate and is out campaigning for him now.

The Obama campaign's already taking advantage of this. They're tweeting like mad w/the hashtag #America Forward.

Obama early voters are polling 61% this year. At this point in the election in 2008, they were at 65%.

Early voting is up 9.4% this year from 2008.

Therefore, Romney is sure to win Virginia.

No, I did the math. That's how these things work.

That was also Romney's theme in the foreign policy debate. I described it as, "Obama's wrong, and I'll do exactly what he's doing."

Nadie_AZ: I_Am_Weasel: Nadie_AZ: He waits until after the debates to reveal what he'll do if elected? His campaign team had no faith that the American People would buy into it, apparently. He's gonna leave it to the spin doctors in the media to help him out?

In most cases, the spin doctors are people who are specialized in turning shiat into diamonds with a few well placed words. In Romney's case, spin doctors are people who spin a big wheel to determine just what Romney's position is at any given time.

Now each time you hear Mitt speak, you'll heard the chant "WHEEL....OF....ROMNEY" in the back of your mind. In more than a few causes, that spin resulted in the wheel coming to rest on "Bankruptcy".

/Enough of this idiotic analogy.

Tax payer: I'll take the box. The box!

Kuni: You took the box? Let's see what's in the box!

America Forward? Seriously?

Considering Romney and the GOP want to take "foreign policy back to the 80s, social policy back to the 50s and economic policy back to the 20s" wouldn't "Back to the Future" be more appropriate here?

I mean it would still be ripping off someone else but it would be marginally less dishonest.

A new Public Policy Polling survey in Virginia, conducted on behalf of Health Care for America Now, finds Barack Obama expanding his lead in the aftermath of his debate victory Monday night. He now has 51% to 46% for Mitt Romney, up from a 49/47 advantage last weekend.
