I swear, we're one week away from him delivering a stump speech and using the phrase "state level ObamaCare" to describe his health care reform in Massachusetts.

It's part of a two-day, six-state "America Forward" swing.

So . . . he's out on the campaign trail stumping for Obama? Is that what's going on? After that debate and now this slogan, Obama really should work Romney's endorsement of him into his speech.

I've got to admit, the seamless pivot from hard right Tea Party "severe" conservative to Obama-lite (*wink wink*) has been masterful.

The clear-eyed, outright abandonment of contrary positions held only weeks before. The apparently instinctive ability to deny quotes he knows full well, word for word, that he made even earlier in the same day; the same hour. The absolute shamelessness of it all. I have to say I am in awe.

I think he's hoping that undecided voters aren't paying attention to who said what, giving him a 50/50 shot. Which means he could still win with 50% of the popular vote.

That and he will literally say whatever he needs to at the time just to get elected.

If the only way for him to win, was convincing everyone the Republican Senate is secretly gay and pretty much yours to take home for the price of a can of bud lite, he would. And many people would believe him.

Is this just a case of bad writing? I'm wondering if the writer is referring to Obama's six-state swing and that last sentence is talking about the president. I can't find anything else referring to a Romney "America Forward" swing, and Obama was definitely supposed to visit more states after the last debate than Romney.

Anyone find any other reference to this? I mean, I would not be surprised at all to learn it's true. But it seems like bad proofreading.

I disagree wholeheartedly with a 5 point plan:

1) Their followers wouldn't read it.
2) If they did read it, they'd just gravitate to the points they like, ignoring the bad stuff conveniently
3) Leftists point out the atrocious parts, and the spinning begins
4) Strawman arguments compared to Obama's policies thus far
5) It may actually win a few more votes for them because hardly anyone understands macro-economics

In most cases, the spin doctors are people who are specialized in turning shiat into diamonds with a few well placed words. In Romney's case, spin doctors are people who spin a big wheel to determine just what Romney's position is at any given time.

Now each time you hear Mitt speak, you'll heard the chant "WHEEL....OF....ROMNEY" in the back of your mind. In more than a few causes, that spin resulted in the wheel coming to rest on "Bankruptcy".

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)."

"The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains.

The slogan "Forward!" reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.

Mitt Romney appeared on Univision Wednesday alongside Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas, but something was a little peculiar about his appearance -- his skin tone. Looking back at the hundreds of photos logging his every moment on the campaign trail, the Republican presidential nominee is usually not so shockingly tan.

While his orangey-brown appearance on Univision could have been the result of bad lighting or a makeup mishap, left-wing blog the Democratic Underground concluded that Romney "dyed his face brown for his Univision interview."

Three Crooked Squirrels: It's part of a two-day, six-state "America Forward" swing.

So . . . he's out on the campaign trail stumping for Obama? Is that what's going on? After that debate and now this slogan, Obama really should work Romney's endorsement of him into his speech.

From the Kennedy/Romney Senate debate:

Kennedy took after Romney as a flip-flopper. "On the question of the choice issue, I have supported the Roe v. Wade," he said. "I am pro-choice. My opponent is multiple choice."

The senator, who had briefly trailed Romney in the polls, drove home his point at the conclusion of the debate, saying:

"Now he's for family leave. Now he looks like he's for minimum wage. Now he's for education reform. If we give him two weeks then he may even vote for me, because those are the things I'm for."

St_Francis_P: Republican Mitt Romney will see President Barack Obama a Thursday campaign event in Richmond and raise him with three Virginia rallies in the state's most populous regions on Sunday.

"Most populous regions", but no stops in Northern VA? I guess we're not Real Virginians again.

LRA61380: This has to be a typo. I just googled "Romney and 'America Forward'" and there's no other mention of it. Obama is the one with this slogan, not Romney.

"Obama comes to Richmond on Thursday for a rally in a city park. That same day, Romney's vice presidential running mate, Paul Ryan, plans stops in Bristol and Charlottesville. It's part of a two-day, six-state "America Forward" swing."

This is indeed a horribly written article. The president is having a two-day, six state tour, not Romney. Well, Romney might be visiting six states in the next two days by sheer coincidence, but the President is specifically doing so.

Allow me to answer, dear sir or madam...

Nobody farking likes Romney. Nobody. Not even his own goddamn party. He did poorly in southern evangelical states. He lost South Carolina to Gingrich and almost lost his own damn state to Frothy McPooperpants. For a guy running on "inevitability" he sure had to deal with a revolving cast of clowns Republican voters were desperate to prop up in order to deny him the nomination.

And yet, every single registered Republican is coming out for Romney because a.) he's the white Republican and b.) because they just really hate Obama that much. John Kerry merely failed to inspire his constituency. Romney, on the other hand, has a constituency that actively dislikes him.

Quite right. While is why Obama's closing argument in these last two weeks should include something to calm the rabid right down. Say something like, "Hey, Republicans, there there. Close your eyes. Listen to the sound of my voice. Everything's calm. Now...you don't hate me that much. You don't have to vote for the guy you disagree with. There there. We had some laughs. Let's see what happens. That Gary Johnson fellow seems like a good guy, right? He agrees with you, right? It'd be a shame if he spent all that money for nothing. Show him some love. It feels good to vote for a guy you agree with, right?"

I'm never in favor of encouraging people not to vote, but encouraging people to vote for a third party instead of against you is perfect fine!

Early voting is up 9.4% this year from 2008.

Considering Romney and the GOP want to take "foreign policy back to the 80s, social policy back to the 50s and economic policy back to the 20s" wouldn't "Back to the Future" be more appropriate here?

I mean it would still be ripping off someone else but it would be marginally less dishonest.
