Didn't Obama mention it in his convention speech? He didn't say he was going to do something about it but I think he mentioned it.

And I'm pretty sure that Romney's RNC speech mentioned telling the planet to fark off.

A friend of mine from high school tried to tell me that there was no scientific evidence of global warming. I managed to resist facepalming and reminded myself that the only two books he has ever read were paperback novels. He's a good kid, but god-damn... I think he smoked his brain into a raisin.

Considering that the global warming alarmists claimed that we would be under water by now because of the ice sheet in Antarctica melting I'm not surprised. The ice sheet has in fact become bigger the last 10 years.

It's a dead issue. The global warming industry is dead. Al Gore has failed.

Asking people if they've read any good books is a good way to determine if they're worth talking to. People who claim they can't find time to read but will happily blab on about reality TV are rarely worth being around.

It's more of a politically toxic issue, where in order to placate morons and keep up short term profits at the expense of the long term survivability of the planet, it's the issue that should not be named. This sweep it under the rug mentality will only ensure that only when we're way beyond the point of no return will everyone agree that it is happening.

So it's basically a race against time for a few poorly funded researchers and civic minded entrepreneurs, and we have to hope that they get us carbon neutral before we commit genocide on ourselves.

My opinion that you'll ignore: As soon as we stop getting so possessive about our own little squares of land we'll realize we can move around as the climate changes, utilizing land that is worthwhile until it is no longer viable...then moving to land that was previously ice. While we're living near the poles, the equator will be devoid of manufacturing and other pollution sources and it will probably cool down, then we'll move back to sunny Nicaragua.

I think it came up - just in a different way. Trying to shift us away from fossil fuels and into renewables would be a major shift in environmental policy. But, given the nature of this election, it's being masked as an economic issue.

Well, since the general consensus these days is that jobs>the environment, it's really the only effective way to frame the argument.

Perhaps it is time to take to the next level. Global Warming proponents should follow the lead of that Italian court and criminally prosecute so-called scientists (and anyone else) who publicly deny Global Warming as dangers to the Public Good.

Dr. J. Marshall Shepherd: Climate, Carbon and Controversey

This is about a 45 minute long video of a Seminar from a leading climate scientist. He dismantles most of the silly controversies floating out there.  I realize this is long for most casual viewers, but well worth the free education.

Caring about the environment is something people do when they don't have to care about other, more important things. Like themselves.

With an economy in the shiatter and an uncertain future, there are no more farks to be given.

Actually, Kyoto is 20 years old and the IPCC report isn't news.

This is past the debate stage.

It's time to do something about it. Romney wants to go back in time to where gasoline was plentiful and didn't harm the environment, and if it did, who cares?
