in terms of debate snap polls, Mitt via CBS suffered one of worst losses in TV history last night (-30): Press reax: Mitt has the momentum!

Considering that Romney was dead in the water before the first debate, I'd say he did come out the other side the better off of the two candidates.

It's an opinion column from Joe farking Scarborough, of course it says that.

Romney managed to not defecate on stage. That's a win. Sorry libs, better luck next four years.

This is true.

Last night's debate was boring. The only way to win that game was not to play.

It was pretty clear that Romney came across as the more conservative and intelligent of the two. Obama just acted like a bully.

I say Romney wins the election.

If you are trying to say that Obama's picture is equivalent to feces, you are the real racist.

Well. He did.

Obama has substance.

Romney "Looks presidential"

Guess which one wins votes these days?

I'll give you a hint. Remember when Al Gore clearly had better command of the issues in the debates? Bush was a bumbling mush mouth. Who won the election? Bush, because "He was someone I could hang out with."

Romney is winning because he is white, and "looks presidential"

Obama is just a hood rat.

This (and the article's points) will be reasonable statements if Romney's numbers hold where they are into next week. The day after the debate? Not so much.

2012-10-23 10:20:49 AM
Yeah...no...no...you don't understand how this works.

You see, the Cardinals ACTUALLY won the NLCS last night because. See? We cool here?

2012-10-23 10:20:55 AM
Well, they do have a point. That first debate turned this election from a blowout to a competitive race. The second and third ones seem to have swung the momentum back to Obama's favor, though, so we may see his lead widen up again in the next couple of weeks.

Assuming Romney really did get the bump polls have shown. In a historical contest of debates not mattering, I do wonder.

Based on the swing in the polls after the first debate Romney did win the debate "season", admitting that to be true doesn't mean you want to get into Romney's magic underwear subtard.

How come no one seems to be talking about the fact that Mitt Romney does not appear to know where Iran is on a map.

Seems fair to me. Romney brought his campaign back from the dead with that first debate. Obama may have won two of them, but Romney is a viable candidate and he wasn't before.

I guess you went to a unionized public school full of tenured pedo kindergarten teachers since you've never heard the term "Pyrrhic Victory".

It was probably more disinterested GOP voters owning up to their candidate rather than Romney convincing a good percentage of independents.

2012-10-23 10:25:38 AM
So Romney won the debate season. In other news, the Pittsburgh Pirates had their first winning season in 20 years with a 79-83 record.

Other than fox, will they declare that romney won the election after gaining 247 electoral votes?

2012-10-23 10:25:43 AM
The only thing that makes me happy is knowing I didnt need to see these debates to decide who I was voting for. Voted straight (actually gay with the marriage law) democrat and dropped it off in the election box. Whether we still have Obama in office later, is up to the undecided morans.

I'd point out that it's pretty hard not to look presidential when you actually are the President of the United States.

2012-10-23 10:28:20 AM
I'd agree completely. Romney won the "Debate season" because more people got to hear his ideas, see him speak, listen to his voice etc etc. He was the challenger, and he got more air time.

Everyone already knew who President Obama was. They got to see Romney stand next to President Obama, which raises Romney's status.

Did Romney do well enough to win the election? Of course not. He lost the last two debates hands down, and he needed to make a huuuuuuuge win to have any chance of beating Obama.

What I'm saying is, it wasn't over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

2012-10-23 10:28:25 AM
It would have been interesting to see the spin if Obama had outclassed Romney this badly in the first debate as well.

Just like a Republitard to defend this guy. Just like it was obvious that Bush was wearing a wire and earpiece, Romney's adult diaper was as clear as day.

Study it out.

He was saying "their route to the seasonal time shares in Syrian resort communities", but President Fart was being an aggressive minority and cut him off.

And does not border Syria.

Basically, Mitt Romney forgot about Iraq. Which is pretty consistent with the Republican party.

But how much of that is the media making this a horse race? They blew up when Romney won the first debate. They turned it into much more than it was, making it sound like a blow out when it really wasn't. Romney didn't win that one with the margin Obama won this one, but the media made it into a major victory. What do they say about this one? CNN's headline: Obama wins debate, but does it matter? Yeah, that's creating a narrative right there. That's assuming the answer in the question. In fact, that's literally "begging the question".

The race is close because it's profitable for it to be close.

Iran and Syria do not share a border, and Syria has a coastline on the Mediterranean. Romney could not have said a stupider thing.

S, "And you Mr. Obama?"

O, "We don't use horses or bayonettes anymore and we have these boats that go underwater."

S, "Thank you both.  You could have been so useful.  But you gave us so much more."
