Just say no to the fashion industy.

Is Fox News being run by teenage girls?

"Michelle is way smarter than Ann!"

"Totally. Let's write an article about how the fashion industry just totes hates Ann and sends Michelle all the nice stuff."

I wish I could say this was a new low for fox "news", but I honestly don't think they could go any lower.

Can't remember the last time I cared or bought. It is a large bone of contention in my marriage. I'm "supposed" to look a certain way for business and social gatherings.

Start a new trend called realistic. Maybe it will catch on. I can't stand that men can wear a suit and they all look the same and its ok.

2012-10-23 06:44:36 PM

sleeps in trees: irishjihad: Makh: First of all there is a huge difference between the First Lady and the spouse of a candidate.

Second of all it is her personal responsibility to use the free market as she sees fit. Does she really have trouble dressing herself? Isn't that pretty bad? Do you want an article highlighting that even if you think you can spin it a different way?

Third, maybe the reason that Michelle Obama looks better in that dress is because she just looks better in general.

Really? Was the First Lady elected? If not, I don' really care about her. She's a non-entity. As was every first lady. They should just keep their day jobs.

Does anyone remember Churchill's wife? Stalin's wife? Tony Blair's wife? Margaret Thatcher's husband? Hugo Chavez's wife? Jean Chretien's wife? Pierre Trudeau's wife? Charles De Gaulle's wife? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, and no. Why? Because they don't matter to the office unless they too have run for an election (see Argentina). When I'm picking someone for a job, I could give two shiates about their spouse.

As a Canadian, everyone remembers Maggie.

No love for Dolly Madison I see.

srtpointman: I wish I could say this was a new low for fox "news", but I honestly don't think they could go any lower.

It's pretty low for their print version. Though there are subtle jabs in all the political articles, and the headlines tend to be ordered in terms of what benefits the GOP and hurts the Democrats, on the whole they're nowhere near as blatantly partisan and tasteless as the network. Please note I'm not counting "Fox Nation," which is a stupid opinion blog and not part of the news itself.

Anyway, this article sucks. It begins with a stupid question, and then waaaaaaaaaaay down at the very end it's suggested that were Mrs. Romney actually the first lady, she too would be lavished with designer attention. She's not. She's some dude's wife. Until he can actually win the presidency, she'll always be just some dude's wife. Yeesh.

2012-10-23 06:54:36 PM
Mrs.Romney is a dried up old white woman.

The First Lady is a fine Nubian Princess that wears it well.

I rest my case.

You found a few bad pictures of a woman who has hundreds, if not thousands of photos taken of her every day, and to allay accusations of racism, you contrasted them with staged, professional glamour shots of light skinned black women with generally European facial features. Wow.

Bontesla: So, yesterday was the presidential debate on foreign policy (which has broadly been defined as whatever Romney feels is relevant) and you want to talk about how the fashion industry favors Mrs. Obama over Mrs. Romney. So, even Fox knows Romney was slaughtered. Good to know.

This hilarity was on their main site this morning. I guess blocking comments wasn't working so they moved it to the Fox News Latino. Fox News Latino: Giving worthless beaners the news, when we're done with it!

If this is true it wouldn't be shocking. This is actually expected behavior from the left. It's freedom of speech, treat everyone fairly, stamp out racism, everyone has an opinion, intellectual discussions etc.
Unless you disagree with them, then it's dirty time.

Catch someone stealing a Romney sign out of your yard, those democrats will gang up and beat the crap out of you. Several actors were blackballed from Hollywood in the 50's but Hollywood has no problem black balling conservatives.

In the uber fascist liberal mind, the end justifies the means. The elitest thugs in positions of power are no different than the common criminal in the streets when it comes to fear and destruction.

Yet Conservatives continue to turn the other cheek. I'll stop my truck and fix a flat tire for a stranded motorist whether they have a Romney or an obama bumper sticker. That's how I treat my fellow Americans.

Don't you have a Tea Party rally to get to?

The Democrats and the Republicans are both equally to blame for the failure of the country. Members of both parties exhibit atrocious behavior on a regular basis, in equal measure. If you are truly so naive as to believe that you could not switch (nearly) every reference in your above rant to the opposite faction and still have it be semantically true, then I have a bridge to sell you.

Did anyone see what Gary Johnson's wife was wearing at the debate?

Oh, that's right, the Republicans and the Democrats conspired to make sure that he and Dr. Jill Stein weren't included in the debate, despite their inclusion on 100% and 85% (respectively) of all ballots in the nation.

Obama had the audacity to suggest to Americans that they keep their tires inflated to the appropriate pressure in order to save them gas.

what a monster.

Three-Fifty: If the fashion world is steering clear of Ann, it is probably because of her husband's backwards stance on gay marriage, health care, etc. She has money and that is usually all the fashionistas care about.

That said, I think Michelle has good taste and knows what colors and styles flatter her height, frame and coloring. Meanwhile, Ann chooses expensive things and assumes that they must be flattering by virtue of their high pricesbecause she's the one wearing them.

I'm not sure who the The Official Keeper of the LOPCATGOPATA is, but first, my thanks, as it makes me laugh every time. Second, if I were to work this into a song somehow, would you abstain from suing me for copyright? I'll give you 20% of all royalties. The math on it will be super simple. Even a public school graduate could do it.

No kidding. She just reeks of snooty entitlement and disdain for all, among other unflattering traits. And besides, how much of a biatch is Ann Romney that Anna "The Devil Wears Prada" Wintour hates you?

2012-10-23 09:06:11 PM

CygnusDarius: While I think it's important that the republicans don't win this election, I think people are focusing a little too much on just the presidency alone.

There's also the issues with the Senate and the House of Representatives. I mean, what will one candidate do if he's alone?.

/Not very familiar with the US voting system, so I may be doing a massive faux pas

No faux pas; you are absolutely correct. That's why the Repubs got spanked in 2006 and the Dems got spanked in 2010. Controlling the legislative houses is critical to passing a party's agenda and too damn few Americans [with whom I agree politically] understand that.
