Don't know what a Skrillex is (thought it was a bug repellent) but always enjoy Igor.

angry bunny: well see now everyone can enjoy this!

This is exactly the sort of thing most of these comments remind me of, and I have no particular love of dubstep.

that was a really nice arrangement.

really don't mind dubstep as a genre - I'm just not fond of the over-saturation - first time I heard the characteristic "wobble" bass drop I was like - "oh, that's kinda neat" but then I heard song after song using the same sound with very little variation - meh.

/A little goes a long way.

I don't think I've seen an acoustic-electric classical guitar played like that before. I usually don't like the sound of the nylon strings on classicals, but that was cool.

I have yet to find an intelligent reason as to why people passionately hate dubstep.

People only hate that which frightens or intimidates them.

Music is so subjective what some people find beautiful and compelling, others hear as noise and thank the gods for that. Otherwise, we'd have one big genre and everyone doing the same thing

Yeah, I really don't get it. I first started reading about it, watching videos on youtube and then kinda started to get into it. I went to see Skrillex at the Hollywood Palladium, with like 15 opening bands/acts/dj's whatever. It's really a pretty amazing experience. The only downside is the music seems to be popular with two entirely incompatible segments of society. Nice peaceful dubsteppers and drunk as hell, obnoxiously aggressive frat boys. I admit the music has a huge aggressive side, particularly the way its done in america, so the asshole element is probably inevitable. It would have been soooooo much better without it though.

I started thinking of dubstep as another bad fad but then I actually heard GOOD dubstep.. well atleast I thought it sounded good. Skrillex is some of it, Knife party is a lot of it, but it is hard to say one artist churns out gold hits. You really just need to make your own collection. I recently picked up a torrent labeled best of 2012 which is awesome.

I just clicked the link for the first time. I had assumed it was this version that I heard the other day. But I guess it's not technically acoustic. Still good though.

First, I was thinking why in the world would someone want to do that.
Then after clicking the video, I was pretty impressed by the feat. But as a non-guitar player, it sounded a bit modified than a full acoustic guitar. Was there some post work done to alter it? Serious question.

/not a guitar player at all, unless you count guitar hero... nah

It's not even what I was getting at. I'm not a really huge dubstep fan, but I don't hate it like some people do. That's my question, really; why hate it?

Because it's a sub-genre of electronic music.

And electronic music sucks.

//I only listen to brass band recordings on brass cylinders.
