I'm not sure I can agree with that. The BBHI makes me uncomfortable. While it is a current 501(c)3, a review of their 990 leaves me nonplussed. I have written them asking for more information.

That said we should have some method for better giving collectively as Farkers.

Why, Obamacare pays for your food and rent? That's where the real bills start piling up. When I took care of my mother, I worked a lot less. The medical bills can be paid off over time, you miss your rent or mortgage payment too many months in a row, you're farked.

Seems the title suggests the mother already had a stroke, and the daughter is trying to take care of her and herself. I was in the same situation, but insurance doesn't cover living expenses. Maybe the mother worked and paid half of the bills, and now that she isn't working, the daughter has to cover them all now. Obamacare won't fix that.

That's pretty much how it is, except her Mom had her own place, and kids still living with her. Those kids were farmed out to other relatives after the stuff hit the fan financially.

I think you're confusing healthcare with health insurance.

Even if the PPACA were in full force today it does not cover things such as relatives who are providing home care.

Every medical problem is not a political soapbox.

No faith in allopathic medicine, well how would you treat an ischemic stroke, leeches? You know the PPACA does not cover homeopathy or witchdoctors at all.

I'm not trying to be mean, just realistic. If you're dismissing traditional western medicine and just getting over a long illness I think you're doing yourself a disservice. At least listen to what a physician has to say.

I agree. In my area, there is a benefit dinner for a young mother with a rare form of agressive cancer. I dream of the day where we can finally do away with benefit dinners, bake sales, and tip jars to help someone's medical bills just because one does not have health insurance or adequate health insurance. This shiat should not have to happen in one of the most prosperous countries in the world for God's sakes!
