Loved the video. Hope the movie is good.

This reminds me of the Kanye/JayZ video produced by Spike Jonze. At this point in pop culture, music videos and pop artists in general, should operate with this kind of self-awareness and create from that starting point.

When so many people like NorCalLos who posted above me running around, its best to just have fun with whatever you're doing.

Hey guys, let's gloss over blatant misogyny by calling it feminist outrage.

So it's subtle irony regarding a tradition of misogyny. We're all good then.

Founder and producer of the Wu-Tang Clan. They set a lot of precedents. Totally agree with your post though, certain music fans always try to take the joy out of music.

Geeze, I dunno about 'The Black Keys'.

They songs sound repeative to me.

Beside if I want to hear the White Stripes, I'll listen to the White Stripes.

Or am I missing something?

douchebag/hater: Beside if I want to hear the White Stripes, I'll listen to the White Stripes.

They're both blues based but I don't think they sound the same, so you probably are missing something. I personally think they're mad decent, better than that soft hipster rock all over "alternative" radio.

I don't really care for the RZA but, I respect him trying to mesh with the rock community (like his project with Schiavo (bass player from S.O.A.D. for those who are thinking the vegetable). Just drawing a blank on the name.

I wish I'd known about the Black Keys years ago. They remind me a lot of early to mid-1960s British R&B bands. And yes, I even liked Blakroc.

And I don't give a crap whether hipsters think they are too popular to be cool. I'm too old and too tired for that shiat.

2012-10-22 08:33:54 PM
I like the Black Keys, along with some other bands that probably bear the mark of the hipster, and I really don't care. If you don't like some band just because they're popular with hipsters, you're just as much of an image conscious douche as any scarf wearing fixie rider.

I discovered them lateish too, but that's actually pretty nice. I've still got plenty of their music to discover.

Black Keys, like the Dead Weather, had decent bluesy first albums and then weak poppy second albums.

Black Keys are good musicians that suffer from overplay because there is a serious dearth of blues rock in mainstream music today.
