Pfft. The local GOP sent me this handy scanner that I used to transmit my vote.

www.shreddingzone.com

I'm not sure why they sent me this when I usually vote Democratic. Also, it must be wireless because I didn't need to plug it into my router.

We're trying to make it harder for people to vote, not easier. Get with the program.

FirstNationalBastard: bdub77: markie_farkie: FlashHarry: republicans want fewer people to vote.

As more and more of the GOP base die off, and the party slides inevitably toward increasing irrelevance, and impotence in their party's ability to gerrymander and disenfranchise in order to win, their tactics will only become more outlandish until at some point the entire thing blows up spectacularly in their faces.

Although it's becoming increasingly apparent that this is going to take 20 years or more. I'm not convinced these idiots are dying off.

...and Obamacare would keep MORE of them alive longer!

I'm now in favor of repealing OBAMACARE... unless the death panels are true.

You shouldn't have to mail your absentee ballot.

There are things called "collection stations" outside City Halls'n'sh*t. Hm. I wonder what they do?

badaboom: The headline is the whole point.

You've been on this site for a long time. Are you telling me you are just now noticing that the headlines are often ridiculous?

What mod would post a thread about the fact that you have to put a farkin stamp on your ballot?

Users post threads. Admins greenlight them to the mainpage. Moderators mostly just get drunk on cheap bourbon and occasionally go nuts with the thread editting tools.

No, the point submitard was trying to make was that #1 Most absentee ballots are for Obama. Citation needed. What if most absentee ballots were for Romney. #2 Someone purposely made the postage confusing, due to #1.

Are you the submitter? Do you have magic mind reading powers? Do you have sand in the orifice which you prefer intercourse with?

This is about as tinfoil hat headline there is.

This isn't even the most tinfoil hat headline of today.

I don't claim to be a religious scholar, but always thought Satan would see Republicans as pragmatic people doing what needs to be done to win elections.

bluelime: Ok, so the ballot is bigger and therefore requires more postage. That stinks.
USPS is sending even if people don't put on the extra postage. Great, that's nice of them.

Giant Leap....

ZOMG Conservative conspiracy. Yeah, that's logical.

Nadie_AZ: serial_crusher: People in Ohio vote by mail to stand in line? How antiquated? They might as well send smoke signals.

Here in Texas we have early voting. You get a whole week to just show up whenever's convenient to you. I'll be heading out on Wednesday to support my favorite of two evils and let my opinion that doesn't matter anyhow be heard.

I voted by mail. The ballot came with an envelope with prepaid postage. Been that way for every election I've voted by mail, here. It is nice to sit down and think things over, do some homework, then stick it in the mail and be done with it. Easy.

Everyone in Oregon votes by mail. I love it. Though I just checked by ballot envelope and it does require postage.

POLL TAX!

It's not an age thing. I could rattle off the names of quite a few of friends my age who vote straight Republican.

Education is the only way to defeat the malicious and stupid.

Public education and teachers are being constantly attacked, college tuition is going through the roof, misinformation is running rampant in American news and mankind's greatest tool (the Internet) is coming under fire more and more. This is a coordinated attack on education in this country.

CSB: I have a friend, 28 years old and a rabid conservative. He really wants to start his own business, but he has Crohn's disease and is afraid of quitting his job and losing his benefits. I piped up that Obamacare was, in part, written with his situation in mind. He completely ignored me, and rattled off some derp about socialism and Obama's takeover of healthcare.

Democracy cannot survive when such a large percentage of the population is willfully ignorant.

I served as the reverend for a marriage for two friends that got married in order to share the husband's health insurance. They'd been living together for years, but she has Crohn's disease, and lost her job, so she needed his.

So please tell your friend to EABOD. Actually, make it a bowl of sugar.

Subby, put down the tinfoil hat. There's nothing here to suggest a nefarious plot to disenfranchise voters. The post office is merely charging more because the mailer is larger than a standard letter.

Yes, the GOP has done a ton of sh*t to screw with the vote, but this isn't one of them.
