Not all NHL players are millionaires genius level.

With a minimum salary last year of $525,000, there is no excuse for ANY NHLer to cry poor, dumbass.

Exactly. Sick of these whining little biatches. Overpaid prima farking donnas who deserve about a $100,000 a year (if that!) and then should get bonuses to earn more money.

The average NHL player will pay over $1,000,000 in hospital bills over the course of their career and post-career life.

Maybe if you had tried harder at succeeding at a specific endeavor in life, you'd make that much, too. Instead you biatch on the Internet and whine about how other people make more money.

I'll tell you what: I've got ten years of cabinetry/finish/custom woodworking experience, and I wound up having to work at Dominos. Then I got a second job at a gas station. Then a third as a stocker at a supermarket.

I make as much now as I did then. Want more money? GET BETTER AT SOMETHING OR WORK HARDER!

This is why I think contraction is the answer. There just aren't as many NHL caliber players as there are spots in the NHL. A guy might be good enough to make the NHL with 30 teams, but with 20? 15? Guys who wouldn't make the AHL 20 years ago are in the show just because there are more roster spots these days.

some numbers for every one

here is the average median salary for an NHL player.
1,712,916.67
agent takes 10%
171,291.67
which leaves you with
1,541,625.00
now the league puts 8.5 % in escrow
137,033.33
that you may get back at the end of the year that leaves you with
1,404,591.67
Now taxes come in lets say at a 35% top tax rate..
599,520.83
leaves you with
805,070.83
multiply that by the length of the average ( couldn't find median career length) which is 4 you get
3,220,283.33 for the total time playing.

to put in perspective the low end GP makes ~ 150,000 a year average career length = 25 years.
so we get
3750000 but we have not deducted tax, so we now take 35% off the take home and we arrive with
2 437 500 for the GP lifespan

Thank you for that. Well done. How much does an average NHL team owner make? Without sacrificing their health, I might add.

Yeah because they take that amount of money home right? And of course they get free houses, cars, and the rest too? If you're gonna cry that hard over someone making more money than you, ya might want to stay in the house.

You must be a farking Communist. You know what an NHL player should get paid? All the market will bear. You know how much an NHL team owner should make? All the market will bear.

TetrisBlock: Am I the only one loving this series?

Personally, I am wondering how much the person pretending to be an NHL player is paying Fark to promote their blog.
