Republic politicians think women should be virgins until marriage and only have sex to reproduce.

Whenever an American Thinker headline begins with "Obviously,", you can immediately assume that the rest of the headline represents some extreme logical leaps.

/Which is to say that it isn't obvious
//For, you see, American Thinker articles are often published on the colloquial "opposite day"
///What I'm saying is that the publication is run by shameless spinners of blatant un-truth
///You know, liars

Depends on how you define progress.

In this case, Romney's "binders full of women" thing is like what Malcolm X said: If you stick a knife nine inches into his back, pulling it out three inches is not progress.

I really enjoy the fact that 'binders of women' has immediately become part of the American political lexicon. So much for that desperate GOP spin that it wouldn't last past one news cycle. Now they're the ones perpetuating it by still biatching about it.

Elite progressive thinkers and high society in general had long been linking the word "teabag" to male genitalia and certain ways of using it in homosexual practices

You know, the binders full of women wasn't the most offensive part of his sentence.

The most offensive part was how he said that he let his female employees leave early to cook dinner, the second most offensive part was when he admitted that after 25 years of business experience he didn't know a single qualified woman.

The binders full of women? That's just poor phrasing from a hopelessly out of touch moron.

what_now: The most offensive part was how he said that he let his female employees leave early to cook dinner,

Did he actually say that? I noticed as I watching it the poor phrasing of "binders" and the fact that he needed other people to bring qualified women to his attention because he didn't know any, but did he actually say they needed to get home to cook dinner?

My chief of staff, for instance, had two kids that were still in school. She said, 'I can't be here until 7 or 8 o'clock at night. I need to be able to get home at 5 o'clock so I can be there for making dinner for my kids and being with them when they get home from school.

And later, in a broader context:

What we can do to help young women and women of all ages is to have a strong economy, so strong that employers are looking to find good employees and bringing them into their workforce and adapting to a - a flexible work schedule that gives women the opportunities that - that they would otherwise not be able to - to afford.

(Also includes the third most offensive thing, which is that the only reason employers would be hiring women is that they are desperate for more workers, because assumably all the men have been hired or something)

The phrase "binders full of women" falls into the same category: it speaks to the progressive psyche in ways that the non-initiated can't possibly understand. Once again, the progressives are letting their primal fantasies choose their battles for them.

so...if I understand this article correctly...the GOP is hopelessly out of touch with mainstream america to the point where they're all a bunch of dorky 50 year old virgins...and the Republicans consider this situation to be a GOOD thing?

hmm.

Because if there's one thing that cannot possibly go wrong, it's having a dorky, completely out of touch and clueless 50 year old virgin making decisions about women's issues, the war on drugs and/or the war on terror.

Not to mention an actual war, with an opponent armed with more than crappy Soviet-era tech and homemade explosives.

You know, back in my days, they used Bayer aspirin for contraception. The gals put it between their knees, and it wasn't that costly.

I don't get what's so bad about these things. Women need to stop being whores and get home in time to cook the family dinner. And when I need a woman to work for me, I'll consult my binder.

Just because one party views women as a subservient sub-species, doesn't mean they are waging a war. In their minds, it is a time of relative gender peace and men managed to retain control after the last skirmish.

For those of you who haven't clicked on this link, the author has decided that "binders full of women" is popular because it alludes to the Progressive attraction towards bondage fantasies about women. Really.

It's been a while since I clicked on an American Thinker link but that was a level of insanity I just wasn't prepared for.

Their education or expertise has no value; the only requirements are a young, voluptuous body, soft silky skin, a vagina, and two large breasts -- three if it's a sci-fi setting.

Yes, these are important requirements. It help me to differentiate from little boys. The author may want to mention these requirements to his Republican breathren. It will help to avoid future scandals.

So single women shouldn't get flex time? What about single fathers? How about instead of saying she could have flex time because she had kids we say all employees can have it because it makes farking sense.

I'm assuming he would deny it if asked directly, but what I got out of that exchange was "women being paid less than men isn't as big of a deal as making sure that women have more flexible schedules to fulfill their domestic duties." The question was "how would you fight for female equality in pay?" and Romney's answer was "women don't need equal pay because they can't do an equal level of work to a man since they have a household to care of."

Between that and suggesting the biggest driver of gun violence is women refusing to keep their legs closed before marriage, I really don't know how he didn't get slammed harder for his debate performance.

Would I be correct to think it is a randomization of the same words from every AT article of the last, say, 10 years or so? Or has AT actually come up with something new?

i hear there is a fun Dog Bucket List post on Fark somewhere today. Probably is more original than something from AT.

I agree. That's not what Mitt Romney said. what_now left out the most offensive part of the quote. This immediately precedes what what_now posted:

Now, one of the reasons I was able to get so many good women to be part of that team was because of our recruiting effort, but number two, because I recognized that if you're going to have women in the workforce, that sometimes they need to be more flexible.

Didn't Obama's answer basically say the same thing? That women needed flexibility in their work hours as some measure of "equality"?
