The Bears already have their one Monday night win for this decade.

I predict that the Bears will get only one pick-6 today, and it will be Peanut Tillman.

I hope I'm off by a significant margin.

Week 7 weird stats & stuff:

-The Houston Texans are 6-1 for the first time in franchise history. In fact, prior to this year the most wins they'd recorded before suffering a second loss was three, and in half of their ten years in the league they've failed to get past 6 wins, period.
-After yesterday's action, the Jacksonville Jaguars are now the only team in the NFL to have scored fewer than 100 points on the season. They are also the only team to have scored fewer than ten touchdowns.
-Tennessee picked up their third win of the season yesterday and allowed 30 or more points in a game for the sixth time in seven tries.
-Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills lost for the first time this season when allowing fewer than 45 points in a game.
-Only ten teams have failed to record a win against a division foe thus far, but barring a tie tonight, that number will drop to nine after the Bears play the Lions.
-Not only did the Baltimore Ravens lose to the Texans for the first time in seven meetings yesterday, the loss marked the first time since Dec 9, 2007 that the Ravens surrendered more than 40 points in a game.
-If Chicago wins tonight, the NFC North will be the only division with two 5-game winners. Even more remarkable considering there would only be seven teams with 5 or more wins in the entire league.
-On the other hand, if Detroit wins then the NFC North would be the only division in which every team had a .500 or better record.
-Something's amiss: the Dallas Cowboys' offense is currently 10th in the league in yards/game, but are tied for 24th in scoring. Their -7 turnover ratio might have something to do with that.
-Speaking of turnover ratio, the Minnesota Vikings are the only team in the league with a winning record despite being in the negative here (but they're only -1).
-The Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the only teams with a losing record among the top 10 in that category. Not coincidentally, they are also the only teams below .500 to have outscored their opponents on the season.
-Perhaps the biggest surprise in the turnover column so far, though: the only other losing team to take the ball away more often than they give it up are the 1-6 Cleveland Browns.
-The Carolina Panthers have converted only 20 third down tries all season, worst in the league. League leaders Pittsburgh and New England have converted 50 apiece.
-The Steelers are also the only team in the NFL to convert on more than half of their third downs this season (54%).
-Moving to fourth down, five teams are perfect on tries this year: Houston, Minnesota, Washington (6 for 6), and both New York franchises. Three teams have yet to convert on a fourth down: Atlanta (who are the only ones not to go for it on a fourth yet), Carolina, and New England.
-I hate to harp on the Jaguars, but it's difficult not to. Jacksonville's offense is averaging just 13.8 first downs/game. League leaders New England have more than twice as many, 29/game. The 31st-ranked team (St. Louis) is averaging 16.7.
-Not-so-special teams: there have been only seven punts returned for a touchdown this season. Two of those were against Detroit...who have only punted 21 times, with only 9 of those returned at all.
-Special-in-that-other-way teams: there have only been six kicks returned for a touchdown this season. Two of those were against Detroit, too.
-The Baltimore Ravens defense has faced 514 plays from scrimmage this season, most in the league. Even if you subtracted 50 from that total, they'd be 8th in that category.
-Despite playing only 5 games so far, the Chicago Bears' defense leads the NFL in interceptions with 13. They also lead the league with a remarkable 5 of those having been returned for touchdowns; nobody else has recorded more than 3 pick-sixes, and 18 teams have none.
-Robert Griffin remains IIIrd in quarterback rating this week, with a 101.8 mark. He is also the only qualifying quarterback in the league (14 or more passes/team game) with a completion percentage higher than 70 (70.4), and only Jake Locker (in 83 fewer attempts) has been picked off less than his 3.
-C.J. Spiller averaged 5.3 yards/carry in the loss to Tennessee, bringing his season mark down to 7.3. That's still 1.5 yards better than the next-best running back with a significant number of carries (20+), Frank Gore, and tied for the league lead with Robert Griffin III.
-Throw him the ball more often: the Rams' Chris Givens leads the league with four receptions for 40+ yards, despite having recorded just 10 catches in all.
-Two kickers are a perfect 4-4 on tries from 50+ yards: 37 year-old veteran Phil Dawson of the Browns, and 22 year-old rookie Justin Tucker of the Ravens.
-After losing 19-14 yesterday, the Carolina Panthers have still attempted only two field goals this year.

Harv72b: -Speaking of turnover ratio, the Minnesota Vikings are the only team in the league with a winning record despite being in the negative here (but they're only -1).

Correction: the 4-3 Seahawks are also -1 in turnover ratio.

Gulper Eel: The Bears already have their one Monday night win for this decade.

Hard to believe, but Lovie Smith's Bears have a pretty good Monday Night record. I was amazed to learn of it too.

The image of Jay Cutler running for his life, getting sacked nine times in a half and throwing five interceptions in prime-time games is so strong that it's hard to believe the Bears are 7-2 on ''Monday Night Football'' under coach Lovie Smith.

How is this possible

Generation_D: How is this possible

I actually knew this from the thread earlier this year where there was a link saying that Cutler sucked (compared to Rodgers, which is really stupid and unfair to do to anyone) in prime time...even that pointed out that he was godawful in TNF and SNF games...but actually played pretty well on MNF.

Anyway, Cutty, Imma need a couple dozen points from you and Forte. NEVER GIVE BUSH THE BALL. Throwing to Marshall is okay, but if you do that, just don't throw like eight picks. Also, Detroit, please score FGs only.

If I am Chan Gailey, I feed him and Fred the ball until their legs fall off. But I'm not, so he won't. Mediocrity: it is what Bills fans wish we could achieve, nowadays.

Update to this: according to the Ravens' official news blog, Tucker has already set the franchise record for 50+-yard field goals in a season. The previous mark had been two, which is astounding when you consider Baltimore's traditional reputation as a run-heavy, mediocre offensive team.

Then, there's this: "The longest field goal [Tucker] said he's ever kicked was during a training session this summer in Texas, with a slight wind at his back. It was good from 75 yards."

I move that, in the event no quarterback achieves at least a 50 rating in any given week, Delhomme himself gets the award. Two measly turnovers in a game is hardly worthy of such an honor.

Cutler sucks in primetime vs the Packers. He is pretty solid against other teams.

With the leader at only 33.3 this is going to be the easiest Jake of the year for a MNF qb to take.

Its times like this that I wish A Rod had played football instead of baseball. I think he coulda put numbers over 100 up
