Damn good episode this week. Better than last week.... though it does need more samurai sword.

Wonder if the addition of Dish viewers will break last week's record number of viewers?

I was hoping Herschel turned and chewed off Lori's tongue and lips. Another disappointing episode.

They've certainly picked up the pace. Now we have badass Carl instead of "Where's Carl?"

It took them until the second episode to lose Carl.

But to his worth, he killed two walkers in the process and brought back medical supplies so he's halfway useful now.

As much as I like where Carl is going as a character so far this season, taking a level in bad ass as it were, I gotta go with Laurie on this. I know I know! It sounds crazy... But no, you don't go off alone in a Zombie Apocalypse, Carl did good, but Carl also did stupid, you know?

Too late. I switched to DirecTV last week.

Yeah, he's gone off the deep end. Carl is finally starting to man up. Lori needs to get with the program, her kid is stepping up and getting shiat DONE.

WTF has happened to the show? Lori and Carl both useful in one episode? This can't be!

And Merle in next weeks preview on top of a solid episode.

Hershel has been training her to help out. They mention it a couple of times in the episode. Mostly in terms of helping out with Lori but Id imagine Hershel also realized that with his age he'd better pass along some med training to someone. She's more along the lines of a very inexperienced nurse/combat medic right now though. As they show she is wanting to cut up some corpses for experience.

Well, he has to do something to impress Beth. Darryl kind of raised the bar on baddassdom.

Lori did say they have to secure a place for Carl so he can "do what he does". Jerk off thinking about Beth probably.

I want to see them break into a house and find a whole collection of zombie movies on DVD. For the lulz

I think I read somewhere that in the Walking Dead universe, zombie movies do not exist. Which makes for a very dull universe.

Yeah Carl is a beast now. He is poppin off zombies left and right and trying to run up in the farmer's daughter. He has defiantly been born again hard.

Wil Weaton is not funny. No matter how hard he tries to be, he will never be funny.

2012-10-21 11:20:39 PM
Carl is a badass and has grown. That growth is shown in the show. He's no longer a kid and that hat is symbolic of his lost youth. You people complain about everything. Just watch the show.

It's like how every episode of Law and Order I have ever watched is about solving a court case. Come on guys, we've seen it before.

well I am kind of glad that there wasn't another thread like last week for the premiere (unless there is a TFD) We had to record tonight's episode because the wife likes amazing race. well usually with football she watches it and records The Good WIfe, but because the Patriots and Jets had to tie, it threw the whole damn schedule off. Kids watched it in the other room and we started watching it and I said "Maybe they give Carl to the inmates" Wife was all like "Thanks for ruining it for me" Although that might be enjoyable to watch I think it would violate the inmates 8th amendment rights if they did that.

It seems like that's the norm for any zombie flick. No one seems to know WTF is going on - "oh noes, teh dead are walking and eating our branez n stuff! Whar is happening??? WHARRR???"

You would think that at least ONE of the survivors would have seen a zombie flick at some point.

Great episode.

SPOILERS--

was not expecting that many of the prisoners to bite it so fast. The ones left alive are very interesting, especially the black guy. I never read the comics, but I have seen mentions of a serial killer in these threads. I wonder who was checking out Carol with the corpse toward the end. Didn't seem like it was from within the prison, so I kind of ruled out the two prisoners as possible creeps in that scenario but who knows.

All I want to know is

-will the baby eat its way out?

-will it wait until it's out, then eat it's own placenta

-will it be sneaky and wait for mommy to cuddle it and then go for the jugular

If nothing along the above happens, I don't even know why we have a zombie tv show.

They need to make "T-Dog's Words of Advice" a regular thing.

Maybe someone from the Governor's town, but a big part of the comics was them trying to keep his people from finding the location of the prison, so it would seem kind of of odd to have one of them find it so early.

SPECULATION FROM GRAPHIC NOVEL/SPOILERS--

Obviously this has deviated quite a bit from the graphic novel to this point, but I can't help but speculate where they might go from here. In the comics prison, there were 4 prisoners.... it seems obvious that Dexter = Tomas and Andrew = Andrew. Both had almost identical fates. But I can't help but think TV Axel will be closer to graphic novel Thomas than graphic novel Axel. Just to throw off us comic book readers. He seemed too nerdy, not the tough biker Axel I've come to know and love.

Also, watching them at the end of the episode from the woods... too early for the Woodbury folk I think. It might be in vain, but I desperately hope it's Tyreese.
