I'd shellac the celiac right out of her.

I don't get it. Her disease renders her unable to perform her job, and has already disrupted the schedules of many other people. Whiny biatch isn't used to how real life works because her job has been to blow dudes under desks and be pretty on camera.

Because when in doubt scream discrimination and this and that and raise a royal stink about it in the media.

Ahh such compassion, such care! She fainted on the set. As per the article, she had a week off per doctor's orders and returned.
They'll probably cancel the stupid show anyway, if not for Fark, would have never heard of it.

Daughter had Celiac disease and it is a pain in the arse. But as long as we closely monitored what she ate, there weren't a lot of issues to deal with. But then again, she was a child and thankfully got cured by being on a strict diet for 6 years and then her body reset itself and all the allergies went away. As for adults, not really sure, but I don't think it could be that much different. She can come stay with us and I'll help her get over the disease.

Jennifer Esposito is hot. The only reason to watch Dana Carvey's Master of Disguise. I'd give her an injection of whatever her body needed.

Too bad she shiat the bed with a facelift.

First time I watched Blue Bloods, I noticed that woman looked like Jennifer Esposito impersonator until I realized it was her.

Well I guess that gives her time to do the sequel then...

Who cares if she got a week off per doctor's orders? Its not an industry where everyone can just hold off until she comes back and catches up some meaningless paperwork that stacked up on her desk. There are myriad professionals and expenses that cost exorbitant sums of money while she's having downtime.

Yeah, I'm not buying that a grown woman with a food allergy had to take an entire week off for stomach cramps at the same time she was asking for a raise.

Go google the term "takes break in filming". It's hardly an unusual occurrence.

CBS probably has not heard of the Amer. With Disabilities Act (ADA). They will get to hear plenty about it during the lawsuit....which Ms Esposito will win easily. Her biggest problem now will be choosing the attorney to represent her...as many will want that case....easy win with lots of $$ for JE and her attorney

Pretty arrogant on CBS part, especially when the law and the courts are dead against them on this one

Did you miss this part?

CBS PUT me on unpaid leave and has blocked me from working anywhere else

Granted, that's just her side of the story, but exclusive contracts are not that unusual in television - just ask Pierce Brosnan.

Her agent and lawyers should have been more careful about the contract they worked out for her, but if true, keeping her on unpaid leave instead of letter her out of her contract is a dick move.

Yes, someone that had never heard of the show until just now is perfectly capable of saying it should be cancelled. Idiot.

If she didn't sign a contract that allowed for that, then she'd be filing a lawsuit instead of appealing to the court of public opinion.

FYI: Celiac never 'goes away'. It is a genetic disorder that you always have, and it is not just an
allergy to wheat gluten: the wheat gluten destroys the villi in the intestines. If it is not caught early and
managed by avoiding the consumption of gluten, the digestive system can become so impaired that
the sufferer cannot absorb the necessary nutrients (a side effect of it can be shorter than normal
stature; Joe C, Kid Rock's late sideman, suffered from it).

Not saying your daughter wasn't helped by her diet, but she isn't cured by any means, and as you
probably know she'll need to manage her diet for the rest of her life (though there is some research
on chemical additives to food a la Beano that would allow a Celiac sufferer to safely eat wheat gluten).

I'm honestly not sure what to think about Jennifer Esposito: on the one hand, Celiac is not necessarily
debilitating if it is caught early. In her case, though, I suspect she was dianosed later in life which
means she probably has some serious side effects that she has to deal with. But, I've also seen a lot
of self-diagnosed 'Celiac' sufferers who probably have other issues, either simple wheat allergies or
psychosomatic complaints, that has, alas, given it a soft of 'trendy disease' reputation in some circles,
which is rather a shame since it is one of the few 'trendy diseases' for which there are solid and testable
genetic markers and a clear plan of treatment.

/I have 2 nieces with it, and am thus very aware, though not as much as you are, BBBB
//Its frightening how many products have some sort of gluten in them.
