Ryan is off this week so I picked up Luck. I would have been more apprehensive until I realized they have the Browns today.

I've got a good feeling about Michael Vick. I had a dream last night that he wasn't going to turn the ball over today.

I want to drive to Green Bay and biatch slap Greg Jennings. 14 team PPR. Here is my lineup.

C Palmer
McFadden
Goodson(yes i know)
Welker
Andre Roberts
Steve Johnson
Josh Gordon
Seahawks
Texans kicker guy

Why yes, I DO have 6 guys on bye this week and Jennings being a pussy.

I am in a league where we get 2 starting QB plus one flex spot where QB is eligible. I have Rodgers, Romo, Hasselback, and Cutler. I am leaving Emo Jay as the odd man out this week. Agree? Disagree?

12 team ppr

Tom brady

Bradshaw
Lynch

Antinio brown
Lance moore
Josh gordan (damn injuries)

Hernandez

Janikowski
Raiders d.

Lets do this

General question to the group: in a 12 team ppr at work. High percentage of people in the league use bench slots for extra kickers and defenses. I have lays thought this was silly, as you never know when a 2nd or 3rd string RB is going o get a shot due to injuries. Is it time for me to rethink? Just asking a wider group for a wisdom of the crowd angle.

Flex Spot: Dez Bryant who exploded last week but has a groin injury or Alfred Morris who has been consistent?

Extra kickers is stupid. One extra D/ST makes sense due to the variety of opponents throughout a season. You'll ALWAYS be able to pick up a kicker on waivers that'll get you 6 points. Those bench slots are gold for the rotating pool of money makers you need for bye weeks. This has worked for me in a 12 team PPR.

Matt Forte vs. Lions D or AP vs. Arizona D?

Is Bradshaw going to play? A lot? Enough so that I don't regret benching Alf Morris?

From what I've heard, someone stepped on his foot in practice this week, but it isn't too bad. I'll be starting both he and Alfred Morris, so I hope that's accurate.

I have both of them and CJ0K. In my mind, CJ is a must-start against Buffalo, so I have to choose between the other two.

Gotcha. I'd go with Morris - he plays well on the road, and isn't banged up.

Brees against the Bucs?
Or RG3 against the Giants

Matchup says Breezus, but every time I bench RG3 he explodes with 30+ points.

Kickers and D always interchangeable on the wire. 1 slot each. Take up the extra slots with offensive players. Even if you don't start them, no one else can either.

That's really my biggest question right now. I'm not sure whether to roll with Eli as my starter from here on out or risk Newton due to his ability to go in and put up 30-35 points.

2012-10-21 10:53:09 AM
This guy writes a fantasy football blog every week AND HE STARTS OFF THIS WEEK TALKING ABOUT A PLAYER/TEAM THAT IS ON A BYE WEEK?? TWICE???

FTA: Alexanader failed to make the St. Louis out of training camp due to a hamstring injury but he is exactly the type of big bodied, speed receiver that the Chargers like and that quarterback Philip Rivers likes to throw to.

,,,i thought Rivers prefers to throw to defensive backs

2012-10-21 10:53:16 AM
And my "Holy-shiat-I-was-not-prepared-for-this-bye-week-at-all" conundrum is, in a PPR league, do I start Denarius Heyward-Bey (JAC) or Cedric Peerman (PIT) to put something resembling points up in the WR/RB slot?

2012-10-21 10:54:27 AM
QB situation: Cam Newton (vs Dallas) or Andy Dalton (vs Pitt)
WR situation: Vincent Jackson (vs New Orleans), Brandon Lloyd (vs New York Jets), Josh Gordon (vs Indy) or Torrey Smith (vs Houston)

I'm leaning towards Newton for QB and Jackson, Gordon, and Smith for WRs.

Newton has hit the sophomore wall. And Eli is an elite QB. Just ask him. :-)

HaywoodJablonski: Gordon over Austin? Hmm

181 yards and 3 TD over the past two weeks while he's been sitting on our league's waiver wire. I'm in a fairly good position to win this week anyway with most of my opponent's team on bye and Josh Freeman and John Kuhn starting for him, so I figure it's a good week to take a risk or two and see if the trend keeps up.

2012-10-21 10:58:17 AM
I can start Eli or RG3 in a standard league. Head to head today who is the best option? I lean towards RG3 for the pass and run points but I'm not sure by any means. Is Canty returning going to be an impact? Any insight would be helpful.

Id go with DHB. He's got a higher chance at a TD than Peerman.

Nothing's guaranteed but you have to take Eli vs Wsh.

Eli is FAR more consistent and the Redskins pass defense is weak as hell. I'll bet you a month of TF that Eli gets 2+TDs and 300+yards.

2012-10-21 11:09:31 AM
Hmmmm..... Stafford or Dalton? I'm aware of Stafford's history with Da Bears, and Dalton and AJ are on fire, but something is telling me to stick with Stafford...

Definitely taking GB Def over DET Def....

I have a flex spot. Can't decide between Shonn Greene and Randall Cobb. 1/4 of a point for receptions. Cobb seems to be becoming a must-start and I don't know about Greene.

pick 2

MJD
Forte
Spiller

Look at the history of NYJ @ NE. This is why I benched Green for Cobb myself!

QB: Dalton, Newton, or Flacco? I'm really going between Dalton and Newton, with Cam starting at this moment.

WR: Which 3, (including flex)? Miles Austin, Torrey Smith, James Jones, or Denarius Moore. So far I'm sitting Austin, because Romo is a pussy.

Ima10urin8: pick 2

MJD
Forte
Spiller

MJD & Spiller.
Oakland is just 23rd against fantasy running backs and MJD is coming off his bye week.
Spiller draws the Titans 27th ranked fantasy running back defense this week.
Forte faces off against a tough Lions D that is 5th against fantasy running backs.

Long Term problem: I am 1-5. I suck at trading. I have big holes at QB (Rivers/Schaub/waivers) and RB 2 (Jonathan Stewart, waivers)

With arian Foster, Wes Welker, Dwayne Bowe, andre Johnson, Steve Smith, Rob Gronkowski...

In a 12 team PPR league, (1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR,TE, K, DST)

What would be a reasonable return be for these guys? I feel I can give up a WR like Welker, get either a top 10 QB or top 20 RB, but would like consensus on who Welkers equivalents would be.

You could do worse at QB than Schaub and Rivers. And you're not gonna get a top QB for Welker.

QB question. Peyton has a bye. At the moment I have Fitzpatrick in but Hasselbeck is available on waiver and I'm toying with the idea of dropping Fitz for him. Stupid?

What's the word on Bradshaw. This is not the week to be messing around with GTDs because of all the god damned byes

It depends on scoring for QBs. In my PPR league, a QB TD is 4 points. Giving up Welker in that format would make me sick to my stomach.

See, this is where I have a hard time trading. Welker is the #4 WR in our league right now (Green, Cruz, harvin, with Roddy White right there, too.) he did nothing weeks 1-2. I think Welker is currently a top 10 FF player in the NFL.

Tough one. terrible pass defenses...Chris Johnson has a better chance of taking points away from hasselbeck(Buffalo cant stop the run, either) than Shonn Green does to take points from Sanchez.(Pats are very good against the run).
Then again,Buffalo/Tennesse might turn into a track meet. sorry.
