There is a mall on the north side of Cincinnati you could do this in and nobody would notice.

Have they torn the dead mall they filmed Blues Bros in down yet? They've been talking about it since before the movie came out, and that was over 30 years ago.

I did this in a mall in Ft.Wayne, IN First in a Honda Del Sol, and later in a 14ft box truck. I only damaged one store with the truck :)

I did this in a church once.

well, the foyer, anyway.

Toyota Tercel. Had less than a 2 inch clearance to get in the double doors. I was a janitor there and had just vacuumed the foyer, and laid down some nice tire tracks in a donut shape (taking pains not to peel out, we didn't want to cause actual damage.) This was on a Saturday night. The folks who were paying attention were rather confused in the morning. (Most did not notice, though.)

/could have fit in the sanctuary, too, but the carpet was older and it wouldn't have been noticeable at all.

Hand to God, was just saying yesterday to one of my friends how cool it would be to have a gokart race in one of the larger malls we have here.
Place actually circles around.

On a more practical note, it would be cool to have a rollerblade race on the ground floor with spectators watching from the second.

In March of last year, the middle son of one of my cousins got married to a gal in New Zealand and they honeymooned around the US afterwards.

One of the places his new wife really wanted to see was the mall from The Blues Brothers, as it is one of her favorite movies and her husband had lived near it as a kid when it was filmed. So, they went and walked around the part that was still standing, took photos and put them up on her Facebook page. It was kind of cute.

I had an idea to sell Smart cars from inside a shopping mall. You could stock a few dozen inside a larger retail space and would be more accessible to the average consumer than keeping four of them at the farking Mercedes dealership.

MINI did that several years ago in a similar way. They had the dealership(which was small) in a mall, and the test drive cars in the mall parking lot. Eventually they just moved it into the BMW dealership several years later.

//got to see The Italian Job early after seeing 100+ MINIs parked at the mall for a gathering.

Ahh, the slow decline of Forest Fair Mall ...

Although, hard to call it a decline, as it never really ever did have more than 40% occupancy.

I saw TBB so many times but never remembered the Oldsmobile bit.
So I thought subs was making was an Alzheimer's joke.
(Old people drive poorly and think Oldsmobiles are still being made.)
Little did I realize I was the Alzheimer's joke.

I actually went to a mall last week, the first time in I don't know how long... probably seven or more years. It really was an obvious attempt to replicate a downtown shopping district in air-conditioned comfort with an Orange Julius always to hand. It was funny to see how quaint it felt, and how crappy most of the stores were. I'm assuming malls were always crappy, my 80s teenage self just didn't realize it at the time.

The use of unnecessary force in the apprehension of the Blues Brothers has been approved.

These still exist, though old style malls are being replaced by open air versions, which I think is kind of funny especially here in the south...

About 15 years ago I visited a Ford storefront in a mall and it looked exactly like the Oldsmobile in the movie. They're usually part of an existing large lot dealer.

Recently, Tesla has been opening 'galleries' as they call them in shopping districts, in lieu of a big lot dealership.

Jake: Oh, please, don't kill us! Please, please don't kill us! You know I love you baby. I wouldn't leave ya. It wasn't my fault!

Mystery Woman: You miserable slug! You think you can talk your way out of this? You betrayed me.

Jake: No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas.
I... I had a flat tire.
I didn't have enough money for cab fare.
My tux didn't come back from the cleaners.
An old friend came in from out of town.
Someone stole my car.
There was an earthquake.
A terrible flood.
Locusts!
T WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!
