And yet all of the Democratic PACs combined have failed to raise as much as has been donated by ol' Shel Adelson to PACs supporting Romney.

How dare Democrats play by the same rules as Republicans! This is an outrage!

You want questionable tactics? How about Mitt holding fundraisers in foreign countries?

The solution is unilateral disarmament by the Democratic Party. What was the question?

The Republican Super Pac money kicked into high gear in Montana. Seven, count 'em, SEVEN glossy attack mailers aimed at Tester in my mail this week. They know this is a key state for Senate seats. The money being spent on Montana is astounding.

Everyone knows he's far too much of a patriot to do things like fund raise or pay taxes in America.

Mentat: Meanwhile, the state of Missouri has been taken over by one man with lots of money.

FyourFA:

Since 2008, when Missouri abolished contribution limits, Mr. Sinquefield has donated more than $20 million to local candidates and political action committees[...]More than half of that money has gone to advance his signature cause: eliminating state and local income taxes in Missouri, a major source of government revenue, and replacing them with sales taxes.

In fairness to Mr. Living-Proof-That-Money-Buys-You-More-America, I don't know how much he actually makes. But isn't it a good guess that if he just saves his $20 million he'd end up paying less in taxes than what he'd end up blowing on somebody else's campaign?

And seriously, all this substandard trolling has got to stop. Where have all the minds gone? Oh yeah, I forgot about the Republican brain drain. No more William F. Buckley Jr... Now it's Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter.

Give us something to work with, for god's sake!

There are still sensible Republicans, but they have been muzzled for being too moderate. Think David Frum.

Does a man with twenty million dollars consider what might make him more money? Hmmm. Can he do a basic cost-benefit analysis? I'm going to guess he can and does.

My Fark search engine tells me there hasn't been a link to him since June. Who's been muzzling him? Why do R trolls not engage their brains on occasion? I mean that was four months ago. They've got to engage their brain more than three times a year, surely? Surely? And I don't want sensible so much as BRILLIANT. Sensible is for sad-sacks. We're in the final inning, here.

In the same "I'm rubber, you're glue" tactical vein, Romney's twitter account has been interesting (in the *headdesk* sense) today. He's linking to a petition on his campaign site called "Mr. President, where is your plan?" that claims Obama has no plan "to make the next 4 years different than the last 4", which of course implies that conditions for the past 4 years have been worse than what led up to them. Ironically, the Romney page says "Sign the petition if you agree that we can't afford to give the future to a president with no plan to ensure that it's any different than the past."

How that text made it onto the site without anyone wondering "hey, couldn't Obama use our own words against us verbatim?", I have no idea.

My guess is the R's in charge don't want what R's like Frum are selling, it sounds too much like the D's...
Which is funnier when you consider Romney's bounce is largely because he said more moderate things at the debates.

Three leading Democratic "super PACs" raised more money in September than in any other month this election cycle, officials said, underscoring the growing willingness of wealthy Democrats to bankroll groups whose existence they had long opposed

it's not like we've got a choice - the GOP has no problems raising vast sums of money and using them in all kinds of ways. the Democrats simply have no choice - if they want to stay in the game they've gotta play the game by the same rules.

Just look at the abortion that they call the Wall Street Journal these days.

You're kidding, right? Obama is using welfare to buy votes, McCaskill is using the Senate dining room as a business office for her husband, and the Democrat PACs are pulling in millions from the middle east (won't be much longer before we have to rename it the missile east, but that's a discussion for another day) and you're accusing Rove et al of guilt on an issue we all know the Democrats mastered.

I really need to read the comment section on that website more often:

Well of course. THE MEDIA is owned by the BIDERBERGERS. All of these corporate heads are Bilderberger shills. INCLUDING 95% of US politicians. THERE IS no US Constitution the media whores have covered up the destruction by NOT reporting the REAL damage being done. Faux news was slick in formenting the left right myth by playing to "emotions." THEY NEVER REPORT SUBSTANCE. Megyn Kelly and all the other bimbos are nothing more than an eye candy front......cheap sluts like the ones CNN trots out daily. NO DIFFERENCE.
Real news can only be found on line.........THAT IS WHY THEY WANT A KILL SWITCH FOR THE INTERNET. INDIA is protesting the kill switch by many in the IT field donning annon mask swearing to HACK THE damn kill switch!!
