Smeagol rape.

I'm interested to see how they do with Animal Farm (I assume Serkis is going to be doing all the mocap)

Has anyone else got an Oscar nomination for mocap acting? His credits on IDMB don't have "(voice)" next to them even though he's playing animated characters, because the industry understands he's physically acting.

However, if you look up a video game on IMDB, all the actors only get "(voice)" credit even though they're doing exactly the same thing. For example, Max Payne in Max Payne 3 is a mocap performance by James McCaffrey, including his face, but his credit on IMDB is "(voice)".

IIRC there was a big push from LOTR fandom to get Serkis nominated for a supporting actor Oscar for Two Towers/ROTK but the Academy deemed him not eligible because the character he was playing was CGI.

There was a similar push by Fox for his work as Caesar in the Planet of the Apes reboot which was, once again ignored.

It's kind of silly because while there's plenty of mocap actors out there, there's no one who puts as much effort into it as he does.

He should have been nominated for "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll", Ian Dury biopic. No CGI there, couldn't deny him on a technicality. Awesome performance with some ex- nu-Who actors in supporting roles.

Never heard of that one, but there's some great names in there.

I was wondering what they would do, since the only movie version I've seen was a cartoon.
