Friday:
1899 Hoffenheim 3-3 Greuther Fürth: Every time Hoffenheim scored (helped by a pair from Joselu), the Bundesliga newcomers drew back even. Fürth may still be in trouble in the long haul though, being stuck at the bottome of the table since the start of the season.

Saturday:
Borussia Dortmund - Schalke 04: Yankees/Red Sox, Packers/Bears, Celtics/Lakers all wrapped up in one insane package. Third-place Schalke visits Westfalenstadion in the biggest match of the season by far. Both clubs have European ambitions, and neither team wants to fall too far behind Bayern.

Bayer Leverkusen - Mainz 05: Mainz hasovercome their horrible start and face a Leverkusen team on the end ot the pack behind Bayern.

Wolfsburg - SC Freiburg: Wolfsburg (and coach Felix Magath) are in serious trouble, sitting at the bottom of the table. Freiburg is ensconced in its usual spot in the middle of the pack.

Eintracht Frankfurt - Hannover 96: Frankfurt has been the surprise team so far this season but may be plunging back to reality after the draw with Dortmund and the loss to Mönchengladbach. Hannover is still in that top pack, helped by the last-minute draw against Dortmund.

Fortuna Düsseldorf - Bayern München: Bayern is going for a new record for most wins at the start of a season (three teams are tied at 7). Fortuna has done well this year and are currently on the edge of a Europa Leagu spot.

Werder Bremen - Borussia Mönchengladbach: Gladbach picked up a badly-needed win against Frankfurt last time out, while Bremen is trying to recover from an ugly loss to Augsburg. The extra week's rest may help.

Sunday:
FC Nürnberg - FC Augsburg: This regional derby could mave major relegation implications for both teams. Augsburg is in a relegation spot, while Nürnberg is only two points clear of the drop zone.

Hamburger SV - VfB Stuttgart: Stuttgart is struggling with only one win so far this season, putting them one point ablve the drop zone. Hamburg is mid-table after recovering from a horrible start of their own.

Way to green the thread after the games are over.

Dortmund vs. Schalke was really the game to watch. It's easily the biggest rivalry in Germany, and perhaps all of Europe aside from El Clasico.

But also....dat Bayern. Record breaking again! This is our year!

Yeah I don't really get it. I actively participate in the epl thread so I try not to hate on other peoples threads but a bundesliga thread that gets no comments seems a little silly.

I'd call myself a bandwagon jumper, but I live less than 20 km from the stadium. GO HOME TEAM!

No worries mate, you're usually the only one on my friends list that isn't totallyfarked already when I get my freebie every 6 months. Plus, I need someone to be there talking to me before the threads go green, haha. Enjoy

Haha fair enough. I hope to be awake for most of them. Bundesliga games are soooo damn early on Saturdays, and I work all day. :-(

But again, thanks!
