I'm kind of 'meh' on the whole war on drugs as long as people do it in private and don't drive or otherwise endanger people around them. Meth is a whole other level of scary when people are cooking it themselves. Hard to believe the ADHD meds I take are related =/

Jesus, just give em the meth they want already. The heroin, crack, LSD, mushrooms, MDMA, or whatever else they want too. Trying to stop people from doing what people will do anyway is at least counterproductive if not completely retarded. Well, unless you profit from it, that is.

No mention of the oddly specific list of items from TFA that one requires to do the "one pot" cook method?

Cool. I want to shoot you in the spine for making an idiotic comparison between MDMA and illicit Methamphetamines. Two types of drugs which are TOTALLY in the same harm class. We're cool, since this is what I want to do, right?

After all, trying to stop me from doing this is totally counter-productive, and society will surely have to pick up none of the cost afterwords.

Sorry if I offended... I was on a drug acronym roll. My point still stands regardless. Criminal/law enforcement approach to drug use and addictions is just teh stupid, that is all.

Sorry, as a former meth user I have never, do not now, and never will subscribe to the theory that meth should be legal. It should always be as illegal as possible so that scumbags like this, when they get caught, can be locked up for the safety of the rest of us.

There's only one way not to become a meth head, and that's to never use meth. There's only one way to stop being a meth head, and that's to stop using meth. It can't be done safely and it can't be done recreationally. There is no in-between. So it needs to be 100% illegal and users given a choice: Stop using it or stay in prison till you do. As a former user, I totally appreciate how hard that is, I really do; but I've been off it almost 20 years so I know it's completely possible.

I'll agree with you all day about pot; but never about meth.

i like how TFA stops twenty five cents shy of how to cook. then TV News picks up the slack by slow panning the recently busted crack house and you get to see how to hook up the glassware and what-not. it's more fun than night school and a whole lot more profitable.

A guy I used to work with talked about some lady friend of his who took meth just to lose weight and stopped when she reached her target weight.

Turns out he was full of shiat and was just trying to get me to ask him where I can get some meth. Good sales pitch.

I am pretty much in this guys camp here. Pot? GREAT! Cocaine? Fine. Shrooms? Fine. MDMA...probably fine, but I am less sure about that one. I would also be ok with a "if it comes from the ground and is not artificially concentrated or created in a 'lab' you can have it" rule.

There was a motorcycle parked in the living room, no electricity, flies in the kitchen and very little food.

Jeeze, so judgmental. That coulda been my apartment in the late 70's to the mid 80's.

What were the flies doing there if there was no food. Ah, no food you'd EAT, I see.

I dunno. Maybe I'm the outlier or just the exception that proves the rule but I managed 10 years as a weekend warrior with a full time job had very few problems (and as far as pictures go - my profile pic was taken at the age of 35 after 8 years of use and I think I look pretty good (in fact I was tweaking when it was taken). Of course I was always hyper alert for any signs that I was starting to lose control and would often take breaks lasting several months. It was during one of those breaks when I realized that I didn't miss it (or the people I had to associate with to get it) and decided I was done - haven't touched it in 6 years and I still don't miss it.

/by way of comparison - it took me 3 tries to kick cigarettes (and I still have to fight the occasional jones) so it's not like I'm uber-disciplined or anything like that
