Marcus?

Is the chair good looking?

2012-10-19 08:37:24 PM
Is this the same empty chair that appeared on Piers Morgan's show then on stage with Clint Eastwood at the RNC? Because if so the publicity is working and I am quite impressed with Empty Chair's campaign. Could well be the best presidential candidate to come along in decades.

2012-10-19 08:37:38 PM
I bet even the chair knows Marcus Bachmann is gayer than a Madonna concert.

I haven't listened to Tom Barnard in ages. Is he actually against the amendment?

That would honestly shock me. I always thought of him as Minnesota's own Rush..

Early in the Republican primaries it became obvious to me that Romney was the guy that the RNC selected and the GOP needed a bunch of fools to "contest" him in the two dozen phoney debates.

So, I picked Bachmann as the worst of the GOP fools that were "anybody but Romney." I'll admit it was close decision. Perry was another obvious choice. Anyway, I donated $5 to Bachmann.

From then on I was deluged with Mitt Romney campaign bullshiat. What to do? I donated another $5 to Bachmann. And, I subscribed to her website. Now it was serious. I posted my desired policy (very liberal) in response to her emails. Here's the weird part. She gave my emails - word for word - in her speeches. In my opinion she had no idea what she was saying. I think she was just in it for the money.

I think we can do the same to Romney.

I hope he can somehow make intelligence and compassion less contemptible in popular culture.
He's in the NFL, he has great influence.

Godspeed, fellow gamer and decent human being

Waxing_Chewbacca: Anyone have any numbers on her race? Any chance she loses?

Supposedly this guy is the strongest opponent Bachmann has ever faced. She's had the advantage of a relatively conservative district and a slew of weak Democratic challengers. This guys is apparently the toughest she's faced yet, but he still has an uphill battle. My guess is that Bachmann will make it back to congress, unfortunately. It will probably be fairly close, though.

I haven't listened to him in years as well (MPR bishes), but he is an atheist and is totally pro gay rights.

Holy shiat. I know the word 'epic' usually draws scorn and derision here on Fark, but that was farking epic.

I also wish I had screen shots for the fark libs. Way back in the day I used to argue with people proclaiming to be conservatives as they tried, and failed, to adhere to my rule set on debating gay marriage. It wasn't even that they would lose... They would agree to the rules then break them within two posts.

1. You must provide logical reasons not based on personal belief or feeling
2. You must provide Constitutional reasons that agree with your logical reasons
3. You must demonstrate that something bad has ever come from the legalization of gay marriage.

Usually they would skip the first two and try for the third. The most popular argument was what I called the 'misery' argument. Pick your statistic and show that some aspect related to gays shows they are 'miserable' in some form or fashion. Drug use rates, or suicide rates, or whatever. There's lots to pick from but it always comes down to the people who are making gays miserable pointing out that they are likely to be less happy. A bit like the bully who points out his victim is an unhappy person.

No surprises here. The NFC North has a well-known liberal bias. Look at the other three teams: Chicago (Obama), Detroit (unions), and Green Bay (communists).

Why? Do the opinions of professional trolls on cable news networks mean more? Why does being in the NFL invalidate his point? Whose opinion do you value?

More importantly, did I just bite on a troll? Goddammit. If so, well played, sir. Well played.

Football has plenty of teh homoghey, though probably no higher than any other random sampling of adults. The ultra-masculine nature of the game doesn't mean it's a strictly straight game - hell, the opposite effect is probably the case. Thing is, it's there, and football being the last bastion of bigotry kinda bothers me because I'm both a tremendous fan of the sport and also a strong supporter of gay rights.

People used to think that an Army man was most certainly straight, because only straight men are tough. Turns out the military was full of teh ghey all along.
