AntonChigger: Why the hell is this a newsflash? This just in: The population in Utah is not entirely Mormon nor republican.

You've never been to Utah I see.

While I don't think it's a newsflash, I think Obama leading by double digits in Massachusetts and now this is a bad thing for Mitt. At one point Rmoney must have been a good Mormon, but he has strayed so far from the faith that he's like a Catholic priest who doesn't diddle little boys.

There are many people (especially Christians) who are skittish about voting for Romney out of fear that as a Mormon, he'll be getting his marching orders from Salt Lake.

Outsiders seeing an article in the SALT LAKE TRIBUNE endorsing OBAMA might go a long way in alleviating those fears by leading them to believe that Romney and the church leaders don't see eye-to-eye.

This article isn't going to make a whit of difference in Utah, which will undoubtedly go for Romney in ANY case, but it may well swing enough fence-sitters in other states to push him over the top.

Kudos to Romney, and to his bosses at Temple Square.

Well played, sirs.

What's a funeral potato?

I'm wondering that one myself.

It's a traditional potato and corn flake dish that Mormons will serve at funerals. I'm guessing it's probably officially called something else, but I know them as funeral potatoes

My opinions of the LDS has changed from completely batshiat crazy weirdos to completely batshiat crazy weirdos I need to invite to my next potluck.

fta Sadly, it is not the only Romney, as his campaign for the White House has made abundantly clear, first in his servile courtship of the tea party in order to win the nomination, and now as the party's shape-shifting nominee. From his embrace of the party's radical right wing, to subsequent portrayals of himself as a moderate champion of the middle class, Romney has raised the most frequently asked question of the campaign: "Who is this guy, really, and what in the world does he truly believe?"

He's got Romnesia. But there's good news! Obamacare covers preexisting conditions.

Through your blatant sarcasm regarding journalist complicity in a media conspiracy.

What makes you think it was sarcasm? Seriously, I'd love to read who decides what opinions to push, when is the best time of the news cycle, where distribute the propaganda for maximum impact, why they've managed to keep it so clandestine, and how.

It's amazing that after so many years, so many thousands of journalists are still complicit on the media conspiracy. You'd think that one of them would write a thrilling article on how their messages are ordered down from big media conglomerates to their sinister colleagues who then spend hours crafting well-reasoned op-eds and deeply researched exposes on topics of public interest.

The Salt Lake Tribune is owned by a media conglomerate (just like most other periodicals). Don't expect any of them to be fair or balanced.
