The Salt Lake Tribune, owned by Dean Singleton, endorsed Bush twice (2000 and 2004) then endorsed McCain in 2008.

How bad does the Republican candidate for President have to be for the Salt Lake Tribune to endorse a Democrat for President?

As I've noted many times, it doesn't matter who you are: you cannot trust anything Romney says.

I've noticed that trolls (or just idiots) don't spend any time altering their writing style when breaking out a new or sleeper alt. One of them, who isn't a throw-grenade-and-run type, can't be bothered to alter the sentence of something he posted three years ago, which was so stupid it was actually burned into my memory. That's when I knew for a fact it was him. Or some guy who frantically searched for the perfectly stupid thing to say and went three years into the Farkives to find it. Which is more likely?

On the other hand, it can be argued that since these guys all receive their marching orders from the same source (Rush, Hannity) that it only stands to reason they'd all sound alike. But I'm talking about distinctive writing styles here. The same retard will make the same "point," but have different methods. These dolts don't even try.

/have considered trolling, and perhaps someday I will
//huge fan of MikeLowell, VernonFL, and a few others. Their sh*t is beyond comical, and STILL gets bites after all this time

ShawnDoc: fusillade762: Obviously you may not notice the stuff that's missing. I only noticed because two of mine were gone and the thread went from 70+ comments down to 60 between checks. It was a trainwreck that thankfully went red.

Ah ok, and to make it more fun the most prolific troll in that thread fully admitted to being an alt just there to troll people.

She shiat up the beginning of this thread pretty well, too.

The only problem I have with the article is that they're wearing some serious rose-colored glasses when looking at his past achievements.

Was I correct that he insulted Mormons when he called himself a pastor instead of a Bishop?
//That truly troubled me.

No, Not at all. Bishop is a title, pastor (little p) is more of a description of function. Joseph Smith himself described the office of Bishop as a "pastor" when he laid out the foundational "articles of faith" in explaining lds beliefs to non members.

#6 " We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth."

I honestly dont know a single member who felt slighted in the least. The LDS church also doesnt have "congregations", it has "wards" - but using "congregation" when talking to non members is also just a way of using familiar terms to convey the idea.

His title was "bishop", which is the title of a pastor, someone who is watching over the flock.

The word pastor comes from the old french word for "shepherd", meaning one who watches over the flock.
The word bishop comes from the old greek word for "watcher", meaning one who watches over the flock.

It's literally a complete non-issue among members. It would be like arguing the difference between "teacher" and "instructor"

Since the Tribune is part of the liberal media, then Bush and McCain must've been liberal candidates . . . or something.

Why didn't they use the word bishop and ward then? Does it feel weird that he is ashamed of his own religion? Too cult-like for mass appeal?

The other thing is that your fellow Mormons will also do or say anything to get Mitt Elected, as having a Mormon President would finally legitimize their religion to the masses. The president of the Mormon church would rule all of America, he is the one that talks straight to God.

Maybe the word "bishop" reminds him too much of his campaigning skills.

Actually, Des News and The Trib are owned by the same conglomerate. News is far more Conservative, and Trib is somewhat Liberal. I would have been really shocked if it had been Deseret News, but this is still pretty cool...
