(Extra Life)   Farkette gamer is participating in the excellent Extra Life charity event. Founder Jeromy Adams set up the event where thousands of gamers play video games for 24 hours straight to benefit childrens hospitals. Is anyone else participating?   (extra-life.org) divider line 7

I submitted this before and was turned down, but hopefully with the new FarkUs tab (the name of which still makes me chortle) I can get it greened. It's a great charity and a lot of fun! I know others participated last year and would love to know who is doing it this year and what you think you will be playing. I will be doing a ton of X-Com and MineCraft, probably. Also, I did not meet my fundraising goal because everyone I know is apparently poor this year. If anyone wants to donate, I would be happy to represent you... for the childrens.

Hah. They advise you not to just sit in one place like a lump. They say you should get up at least once an hour. We're planning on doing some motion games too. Plus, to stay awake, at some point you need to sort of march in place or do something other then sit lifelessly. This isn't Worst Korea.

You guys should take bets on who dies from a bloodclot and donate the proceeds to charity. Plus you're playing for 24 hours straight. How is that any different than the average day on second life?

I would take part in this sort of fundraiser, if not for the way work is going lately - got only 10-12 hours of sleep this week, so I don't think I could make it through another 24 hours session.
