Moral of the story, if you're going to steal, go big. The guy who knocks off a 7-11 will get way more time than Mr. Ponzi Scheme.

FTA: He spent the past five years living in Rome, visiting about 30 countries and gambling away at least $565,000, records show.

Anybody who loses that much gambling is too stupid to breathe my air. Even if he took 5 years to do it.

I can think of hundreds of more worthy ways to spend or even invest half a million bucks. Besides sending a big chunk of it to me, I mean.

...and the only reason he got caught, is because he was stupid enough to write a fraudulent check to a Las Vegas casino.

Those guys dont play, yo. They managed to get him extradited from farking africa.

Could somebody please tell me how to start a Ponzi schene then? Maybe I could make enough money to go off SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamps).

He cooked up the Ponzi scheme to pay mostly for his gambling debts. The more money he got from the Ponzi scheme the more he gambled to make up (it's called chasing) for all the gambling losses. The man has serious gambling problems and now very serious legal problems.Being broke, a gambling addict and facing serious jail time is no way for a 25 year old to be living his life, son. (Or something like that...).

What a shame because it sounds like he is very bright and a very gifted salesman for his age. Should have pursued a legitimate sales career not a bogus one.

Gee, I was getting divorced from a psycho biatch.

And let me quantify that... She had been institutionalized repeatedly before I met her. My mother in-law failed to disclose her problems and seemed to think she had unloaded her problem child. She had been adopted and I later found a clan of people who looked just like her and it turned out she came from a shallow gene pool.

I wish I'd had something as simple as a Ponzi scheme when I turned 21.

Foiled by ego. Guy could have a nice life with couple million in stolen dollars. Have a wife, live in a little fishing village somewhere in the caribbean, have a decent boat. Never be heard from again. But no... this guy wanted more.

Also, having lived in Boca Raton for a few years now, this confirms what I have long suspected... rich people are stupid.

As a former salesperson, I think that there is not much difference between his sociopathic ponzi scheme and most daily activities of people selling things. There is a reason that the most successful salesmen have no soul, you can't afford one- honest salesmen go hungry. Everyone needs your product, whether they know it or not.

Hair, smile, suit, website. Some would encourage a briefcase, but that's usually overkill- you can carry necessary paperwork in a shiny leather portfolio. But then again, if you can't talk your way past a job interview then you probably won't do so well. Go apply for a job that you have no idea how to accomplish it. If you can get hired and not fired before your first paycheck, then you might be qualified.

Why yes, I do move around a lot. Why do you ask?
