Let the guy grow a beard as a reminder to the judge about how farking long this trial is taking.

Beard? I grow more hair on my palms after a spirited day of masturbating.

Hold down his half body and dry shave him with a disposable BIC.

What?

It's the farkin' military. Nothing goes quickly. There is a reason why "Request denied, resubmit in 90 days for final disapproval" is funny when you are in the military.

And power tripping retards? The guy was caught red-handed shooting unarmed military personnel.

Just get it over with and flush this piece of shiat already.

Speedy trial? - what a brilliant idea. I may suggest we amend the Constitution to ensure it's enacted properly.

And wtf? Where in Islam does it say a man can't shave, period? In Egypt and Turkey practically every man I say was either clean-shaven or had only a moustache.

This. Plus, I want this asshat to go through every imaginable slow process. It's not like he can deny that he did it.

I lost my internship at Fox News because I just skimmed this when it came off the wire and wrote the headline, "Court forces disabled veteran to shave beard."

They told me to find any story I could in which a military veteran was not permitted to do whatever they want.

Home Owner's Assocation refuses to allow veteran to fly flag in front yard. (Failed to mention that it was a 5000 square foot flag in front of a 1500 sq ft house).

Library demands payment for overdue materials checked out by veteran. (Ok, so it was a DVD player that he had actually pawned for pill money - not important to the article).

Family dismayed that female veteran refused reconstructive surgery after shrapnel wound. (She wanted her breast enlarged because the shrapnel hit her in the foot).

According to Fox, if you are a veteran then laws, regulations, and common sense don't apply to you. Thank you for your service, you can park right over there on the mayor's lawn!

If this POS didn't have a religious exemption before he went all jihad, he shouldnt get one now.

Plus I believe the Koran exempts Muslims who are forced to break rules.

Before I RTFA, I thought he was growing a beard to try to throw off being id'd in court by witnesses.

The argument over Hasan's beard has held up his court-martial, which was originally due to get under way in August.

Not stupid Costs him six large but what the hell, he won't need it where ever he goes.
I can wait for the outcome. I'm in no rush. The families of the dead might be, but I can and will carry on for them in case some of them are called away from here.
Has he been found to be sane? That takes time too. Take all the time you need, get it right.
I will see him dead or eating hotdogs somewhere in the federal prison system. Either way is fine with me.

Shooting those people was enough expression of his faith, he doesn't need a beard to know that he's muslim.

I think he should be allowed to grow the beard. He is in jail after all, he probably wants to grow it as a shock absorber.

Not that I think this dirtbag (Hassan, not the guy above) should be cut any slack, and should have had a bullet in his head 2 years ago, but the Army DOES allow religious beards now. But apparently, only if they really REALLY want your skill set.

Enjoy your time in the CS gas chamber with a mask that doesn't fit, Beardy McBeardface.

And only if you apply for a religious exception, which Dr. McDerpajihad never did.

I can't help but think that this is a victory for the defendant, who is dragging this trial along with numerous appeals over a completely silly issue. While the judge might be correct in demanding that the defendant appear in court clean-shaven, it is just not worth having six contempt citations and this round of appeals, in which some of the appeals court judges have now written that the proceedings "compromise the impartiality of the judge."

The defendant's lawyers can easily use that minority dissent, about the impartiality of the judge, to trigger more proceedings requesting that the trial judge step down, then appealing repeatedly. Better to just put on the record that he is not supposed to have his beard, but then move on with the actual trial, so he can be convicted and executed.

This. He has already shown by his willingness to shave daily that he does not need to follow the practice.

They've been arguing about his stupid beard for months. This asshole killed as many people as he could. Nobody gives a flying fark about his beard. Try him, give him the death sentence, and put him in front of a firing squad.

The beard doesn't matter. The defense wants to argue about a beard because that delays the real trial, and when the real trial comes, stupid "But he has a beard" or "but you made him shave his beard" arguments are about all they have.
