A white, freckle faced Rosa Parks? It's more likely (the rule) than you think.

I'm sure Tacitus accurately reported the numbers without any skewing in favor of the Romans.

Yeah, considering how often my state makes the headlines on FARK and for what, I was really assuming this was going to involve blackface, yellowface etc.

Someone should inform the school board that these costumes are most likely a distraction to the other students trying to learn. They could also open up the door to bullying by her classmates. I honestly appreciate the importance of women's history as much as anyone, but I really think that children's safety needs to come first.

Oh yes, and apparently in West Virginia they also have a Pledge of Allegiance to the State as well
that they must say.

That is kinda freaky.

We were supposed to say it everyday in HS too, we HAD to stand for it, but my best friend and I never said it, we just stood there.

My niece said they had to memorize it.

Interestingly, a cursory search of Google shows that Georgia and Texas also have state pledges of
allegiance. I wonder if this isn't a holdover from the good old days of the bootstrappy, state's rights
lovin' Confederacy?

No, you're thinking of Madame Giry. She was the Cockney flower girl Professor Higgins was trying to teach in Les Misérables.
