I've avoided mentioning this more than a couple of times around here (for fear of being accused of spamming), but this seems like a good opportunity. Hopefully this thread won't deteriorate into a politics tab nightmare, but I won't be surprised if it does.

Anyway, here's the pitch. Back in February I decided to start my own super PAC. I'm a middle -class, self-employed/unemployed guy with too much time on his hands and a real concern about the corrupting effect of money on our political system, particularly since the Citizens United ruling. So the whole point of the PAC is to support candidates who are committed to finding a way to reverse the effects of the ruling.

So far, I've raised a whopping $46 and been mentioned in a front-page story in the Wall Street Journal. Not quite what I was hoping for, but it turns out I'm not so skilled in the fundraising department. I have $23 remaining in the bank, and I am using it on a Facebook ad supporting Alan Grayson. I'd like to do much more before the election, but that's all I can afford.

So take a look at the website in the link to see what we're all about. If you're interested in helping, send along whatever you can afford. With the tiny amount I'm working with, even a dollar or two is useful.

Thanks for reading. I'll try to answer any questions in thread or you can send me a message (EIP).

Step 1: I'd recommend updating the web page. It still speaks like the Republican primary is ongoing.

And Fark becomes yet another message board for people to beg for money to fund their projects. It's spreading like a plague. Like...a zombie plague! Hey. I have this idea for a film.....

Oh and the little form for name and employer doesn't work. Don't worry about it. If it becomes necessary to collect that, I'll be in touch.

Serious question: How does one go about starting a SuperPAC, anyway? I've been toying with the idea of starting a Pirate PAC, for intellectual property reform.

It's pretty easy, but a bit complicated, if that makes any sense. Nothing terribly difficult or hard to understand about it, but there are quite a few steps that aren't necessarily obvious. Let me know when you get started if you have questions. I'll be glad to help.
