(Kickstarter)   As Fark now has a place for just this sort of thing, here's Subby's silly little kickstarter project. We think it's pretty funny, but the project is completely languishing. Donations and abuse welcomed in equal numbers   (kickstarter.com) divider line 20

From what I understand

this is a book

about telling jokes

about clouds

is that right?

I think they should change the tab to "FundUs". There was an awesome TF thread a few weeks ago about stuff TFers had created. Turns out when you give that tool to the masses it gets flooded with too many ideas

There's no way those pictures were taken in Ohio; too nice looking.

I farking love it. Not that I see a damn thing in the clouds or have money for a book, but I love this idea so much. Screwed-up 'kids' books are epic.

What a strangely endearing idea.

Subby, here. As the project page says, this started as a book for children, but my girlfriend and I thought it was much more amusing to skewer that idea and make it for adults. Besides, the clouds seemed to be asking for an R-rated approach. Seeing as how so many people seem bemused by the concept, that just reinforces how fortunate I feel to have a woman in my life who got the project when I descibed the idea to her, and has had as much fun as I have in making it.

The one piece of advice I have to share, concerning how to approach the book, is this: Think of it as being in the same vein as Where's Waldo, or the briefly wildly popular magic eye books. You might not see what's there immediately, but suddenly the image might pop for you. That's how it's been making the book as a couple, anyway. We didn't always see the same things initially, and that was a great benefit.

Anyway, I had no illusions about making bank by posting it here, but at the same time we had nothing to lose. And really, are you honestly going to tell me you don't see Jay Leno about to kiss Tigger in this photo?

Thanks for the kind words, they are appreciated :^)

reminding people, especially adults, of the importance of gazing at clouds is a wonderful thing. some years back my little old lady neighbor did this for me. i'm grateful to her and i miss her terribly: RIP Annie.

i hope you folks get all the funding you need. my apologies but i just shot my donation wad a few threads up for the Soup Kitchen that Mittens boyfriend farked over by showing up and pissing off local supporters. but best of luck to you and bless your hearts.

This would make a great coffee table book!

Very creative idea.

Alas, I have entered the perpetual poverty of my sunset years, so nada dinero.

Interesting idea, off humour.

I'm not sure this is for me, and probably won't be for a lot of people, but as a few people have said, creative idea and a good concept to get adults to stop and look at clouds once in a while.
