Whatever happened to maxing out your credit cards and selling your comic book collection to make your movie? Now everyone just goes online and begs.

and here I've been shamelessly wasting my money on paying for my creations. I should have been wasting everyone else's money to make what I want

/kickstarter is a pet peeve of mine. You expect me to pay to help you make your product AND by your product? If I gave money to help you make it, I better be getting it for free

Holy shiat, I'm trying to save up a few hundred bucks to buy some new studio equipment and he asks for 18k and gets 88k? Maybe I've had this kickstarter thing wrong all along. Does this mean if I ask for $20, I'll get the $200 I need for new drums?

No ones making you donate to any kickstarters.

I'm sorry you don't have any ideas worth donating to.

You get a copy of his book for $25. That's hardly begging. Pricey...but not begging.

I will admit that after checking out the link, this guy is doing it right. If you give $25 you get a free book and he is showing exactly where the extra money is going. My problem with these are when fairly well known artists (usually not mainstream but still in a position to make the investment themselves) ask for money to make an album without telling anyone how much the album costs to make, then expect people to buy the album even though they probably made a nifty profit off the donations. I've seen this with artists touring as well. They ask for 30k to tour, play a handful of regional shows and call it a day. This guy is alright though. I would give him some of my cash, but I spent all my donation money this month buying the VP a car

I see dickishness has found the new tab and settled in nicely.

Yeah maybe I was too dickey, but It upsets me to see people shiat on kickstarter. No one is making anyone donate if the don't want to.

If I have a friend doing something I donate. I usually get a t shirt out of it so I am happy to help.

I was just busting balls.

For what you're getting it seems to be a pretty good deal. It should be a pretty fancy book at the end.

/I'm already getting one for me and one for a friend.

Agreed...it looks like an exceptionally well packaged work. And I always thought Earthworm Jim was a hoot.
