Liars talk fast. This is news?

2012-10-18 12:11:33 PM
fta: CNN says: "Romney supporters are going after her on two points, no doubt because their man did not have as good a night as he had in Denver."

That is pathetic.
Romney did as well as he did in Denver. It was a consistent performance.
0bama did a heck of a lot better than he did in Denver.

Based on the debates, voters have seen two different versions of 0bama and one consistent Romney.

No one is criticizing Candy because it was a much closer debate, they criticized her because of her actions.

Turns out, antagonizing the moderator isn't a great way to win a debate. Who knew?

Romney consistently lied both times. Glad we agree on that.

Democrats all agreed Obama sucked the first debate. Even Obama admitted as much.

Romney loses and its the moderator's fault. Vast liberal conspiracy.

Their act is so old.

2012-10-18 12:13:39 PM
This is ridiculous. Romney didn't repeat the success of his first debate. I don't think there's any dispute of that. Why not simply accept it? There's a singular gripe I can see regarding the moderator and that was her "fact check" that needed its' own fact check.

2012-10-18 12:14:37 PM
Yes, because those extra 3 minutes made such a huge difference.

Between the single moms and the binders, who knows what other gems Romney might have come up with in those three minutes?

Obama called it an act of terror. Romney said he did not call it an act of terror. Both events were recorded on video. You can watch them. If you can't watch them because you're at work or something, the transcripts are available all over the web. What further fact checking do you need?

"That uppity lady there, saying they have 2 minutes to speak, stopping Romney and Obama from he-says-she-saysing for the whole debate, and trying to shut down crosstalk, who the hell does she think she is?"

2012-10-18 12:18:00 PM
According to CNN's timekeeping, Obama got 44:04 minutes of speaking time, while Romney got 40:50.

Let's focus a little more on how they used their time than how much time they got.

He's already decided to believe the false reality that Romney tells him to believe instead of watching it with his own eyes.

Come on, now, that's probably the least stupid thing I've ever heard him say. Obama stepped his performance in a big way. Romney did the same blustering cram-as-many-lies-as-possible-in-each-breath tactic that he used successfully in the first debate.

In the scheme of a saving face, I don't think this type of "correction" weights as heavily as the blank-stare-inducing smack down delivered during the course of the debate. Aside that though, who is really trying to pass this debate off as anything but a better performance for Obama and less so for Romney?

To be fair, Obama also had content, Mitt had platitudes.

3. minutes.

When Obama says "I am the president of the United States." in front of Mitt I get so happy.

I think both sides are sad Mitt didn't get more time. GOP wants to hear more lies. And Dems want Romney to keep pulling out rope to hang himself with. Maybe Mitt can make a youtube video and just say a bunch of crazy stuff to make up for his lost time.

Has anyone done a count of how many times each candidate broke the rules both campaigns signed that forbid them of asking a question to the other candidate? Considering two or three times Romney wanted to give up his time to ask Obama to answer questions Romney had of him ("Are you saying you it an act of terror in the Rose Garden?", "Can we talk about what's in your pension?"), I am surprised they're still trying to do rule-lawyering on this.

If the GOP start accepting facts that is a truly slippery slope.
