Seattle *may* have a better defense than SF now.

Seattle has yet to win against the division. They need this one badly.

After their recent behavior I have elected to place Seattle at the coveted #3 spot on the list of teams I can't stand, right behind New England and Dallas.

Why is this going to the fark us tab? Shouldn't it just be on the sports tab?

San Fran wins but they don't cover the spread.

shiat... in the days of the preview function, that wouldn't have accidentally posted.

Anyway, TNF usually wins the cable ratings on Thursdays with somewhere between 5 million and 7 million viewers.

sammyk: Why is this going to the fark us tab?

Drew

We noticed awhile back that we didn't have a good place to put certain types of links, including:

- Social content - Twitter, Facebook, Cat Pics, etc

- Discussion topics - either around events, tv shows, or just general questions

- Places where Farkers could post fundraising requests and/or products they make

- other random non-news stuff

For the record, being an adult male in America I fear change and do not support this decision.

Not really true...

Here were the stats before the got the deals done with Time Warner & Brighthouse:

"According to Nielsen this month, the NFL Network was in 61.2 million households.

By way of comparison, ESPN was in 98.2 million homes, the Golf Channel in 83.9 million, NBC Sports Network in 80.9 million, the MLB Network in 70.0 million and the NBA TV in 59.5 million."

From another article: "Time Warner is the nation's fourth-largest pay TV signal provider, with about 12 million homes"

I think Brighthouse is much lower, probably just a few million at the most. So, lets say that added 15 million to NFL Network, so, they'd be at 76 million homes now.

Can't wait for the battle of the defenses. I'd be shocked if the combined score is over 20 points.

We really need to prove we can win on the road though. 49'ers are a tough team and Candlestick is moderately tough stadium. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if this game were at the Clink.

It's strange when I hear that someone from another city really likes/hates the Seahawks. I really didn't think they were on anyone's radar.

And my feelings on tonight..... can we talk about our feelings right now? OK. My feelings are that Seattle sucks and go Niners, also because I picked them to go to the SB before the season started and also because Seattle sucks.

Is this the place to complain about being ranked behind teams we beat? While I wait for you answer I'm just going to fiddle with my phone and mill about randomly as I confuse people trying to queue up for their vente foam, syrup, whipcream with a splash of coffee and tell you how much better Red Mill Burgers are than anything else you've even read about.

Almost forgot to post this, but based on how I did last week that might have been a good thing.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers:
Of all the weird NFC West-related stats in this young 2012 season, perhaps none are stranger than this: the Seahawks are a perfect* 4-0* against teams in other divisions, including victories over Dallas, Green Bay*, and New England, but are 0-2 against their fellow former doormats in the West with both losses coming on the road. There's also the question of symmetry in schedule: Seattle opened the season with a loss, ran off two wins in a row, lost, and have now won two again. San Francisco opened with two wins, lost a game, won two more, then lost again. Thus I don't even have to consult the stats to determine that the 49ers will win this game. 24-18

Also, the last 4 losses of the Harbaugh era in SF have been followed by resounding SF wins. They've outscored opponents something like 93-11 when coming off a loss. This is why the Seahawks will win. We've been doing the exact opposite of the conventional/statistical wisdom all season when it comes down to the final result of games. Seahawks 13-10

/with both TDs being scored by the defenses

Also, in his last 4 games against the Seahawks (In other words, since Seattle grew a defense), Frank Gore has been held to 1 TD and something like 2.9 YPC. The defensive gameplan will be to put the game on Alex Smith's arm and count on the best defensive backfield in the league to contain the passing game. I think it'll work out.

He won that game against Arizona's real defense (in a world where Doug Baldwin and Braylon Edwards catch TD passes that hit them in the hands).
