It's not surprising, this playoff season died with the Nats and Oriels. The Tigers are a lock with Jeter gone, and either of the other two is just been there, done that.

No, people switched to Sunday Night football (or Walking Dead)

That's a sad statement, but at least a little true. Who would have thought interest in the post-season would fall if those teams dropped out? There's still good baseball to be played though. I just hope some of it is by the Yankees.

It is too bad about the Orioles. I would have liked to see an all-St. Louis World Series.

They all switched to see something more exciting - the national grass grow watching competition.

And the ones who do were watching 60 Minutes.

F baseball. After watching 162 games spread out over half a freaking year, I don't want to see a team who couldn't be bothered to win 90 games get hot for one week and take down a team that was hot all year.

If you're going to cheapen the regular season and let more and more teams in, just shorten the damn season and be done with it.

You know what, screw it. I'm rooting for the "Sub 90" series - Detroit vs St. Louis.

This is the stupid irony of baseball's postseason. The teams best equipped to win over 162 games, in general, are not the teams best equipped to win over a 5 or 7 game series.

As a Tigers fan living in Maryland, I would have loved to see the Tigers vs. Os right now! I was also rooting for the Nats, because a beltway series would be awesome to watch around here. Err...sorry to walk right into your point!

That being said, I just want to see some good baseball games, with no more egregious calls.

/(that the Tigers win!)

No. Football is better for many, many other reasons.
The amount of people liking it is the result of.....lol baseball

THIS

There is no way I'm going to care about baseball by week 6 of the NFL season.
I told my wife in 2001 that we'll have baseball in November every year. Pretty much the case. Just took a couple years to adjust the schedule.

Farking MLB management thought the ratings boost in 2001 was due to November. Why would more people be watching the NEW YORK Yankees in 2001!?
I can site only 9-11 reasons at most.

the pregame for NLCS Cards vs. Giants and the game itself were both on Fox while the Packers football game was on a diff channel so you can't blame football. What show was on Fox before the Pregame show?

also, maybe the reason for some of the dropoff during the game was Giants fans tuning out because their team was losing?

Just in case you're serious, football was on Fox before the NLCS pregame. SNF doesn't really get going until 8 so there's really no reason to change the channel until Faith Hill comes on.

It's like a magic trick. The Browns move to Baltimore, then the Browns move to Baltimore. Where are the Browns? In Cleveland. ta da!
