fark you, Heathcliff rules

Now try to get this song out of your head

Heathcliff, Heathcliff, no one should
Terrorize the neighborhood
But Heathcliff just won't be undone
Playing pranks on everyone

There's a race to be on top
The competition doesn't stop
Fixing with the ladies there
Being Johnny Never-There

The game will rage supreme
And no one can deny
They'll make up history
And always have another bite

So join in the jubilee
The cats are great, they'll all agree
Finding meets calamity
The Cats of Periodity

Heathcliff, Heathcliff, no one should
Terrorize the neighborhood
But Heathcliff just won't be undone
You should realize, he can win it WITH YOU!

That one cat, I'm convinced, is solely responsible for furries.

Screw that, I want a new feature-length, hard R-rated Felix the Cat movie.

The funny thing is Heathcliff predates Garfield by 5 years according to wiki.

Our 7 year old has been alternating on Netflix between Heathcliff, the 90's Xmen cartoon, the original Power Rangers and that All Grown Up Rugrats sequel series. Way too many nostalgia theme songs running in my head lately.
Just need to get her hooked on M.A.S.K., my favorite as a kid.

Let's fix those lyrics, shall we?

"Heathcliff, Heathcliff, no one should
Terrorize the neighborhood.
But Heathcliff just won't be undone
playing pranks on everyone.

There's a race to be on top
the competition doesn't stop
mixing with the ladies fair
being charming, debonnaire.

The gang will reign supreme
and no one can deny-y-y-y
they'll make cat history
and always have an alibi.

So join in the jubilee
the cats are great, they'll all agree
find in each calamity
the cats superiority.

Heathcliff, Heathcliff, no one should
terrorize the neighborhood
but Heathcliff just won't be undone
you should realize he can win it with you!"

Catillac Cats. They're named after the Cadillac they drive, but it's Catillac.

No way the Heathcliff movie could suck as bad as the Vortex of the Garfield movies, right? Anyways, it don't remember much about Heathcliff except the theme song was a bit catchy like the "Skip-It" commercial's song.

Most of what I recall of Heathcliff from the old funny papers was the cat singing on the fence in the middle of the night.. waking and annoying the humans, but attracting lots of female cat groupies.

(snort) A comic strip character that I read in the 1970s isn't exactly vital info to anyone.

I believe that Heathcliff is older than Garfield by quite some number of years.
Storywise and themewise, there is nothing similar to them.

And thematically is nothing like Garfield. Heathcliff is pretty much a "see, the stuff you think cats really do, they really do" kind of strip.
Garfield is a cartoon meant to resemble the Republican voter zeitgeist: show complete and utter contempt for those who help you and take care of the things that you need that make your life comfortable, without realizing that if your safety net is taken away, you'd probably die in three days because your bootstraps aren't as big as you thought.

I loved Garfield the cartoon, Heathcliff was ok. The cats in the junkyard was better.

I refused to watch a cgi Garfield, and I refuse to watch this crap too.
