not5am: weave: I've never understood the rush to remove oil from our ground when other countries are still willing to sell us their oil relatively cheap still.those other countries happen to be places like iran and libya. even if it's cheap, you probably don't want to do business with countries that will use the proceeds to wage war and/or oppress their citizens.
Aarontology: Gas prices influencing someone's vote is a great way to find out who is a moron.
Angry Drunk Bureaucrat: Sybarite: I for one like birds...except owls, owls are assholes.Sounds like someone's bitter about not getting into Hogwarts.
weave: I've never understood the rush to remove oil from our ground when other countries are still willing to sell us their oil relatively cheap still. That oil down there isn't going anywhere. It's money in the bank for future generations. The price of oil will only continue to go up. When the world gets desperate, they'll pay us anything for what we have and in the future we'll be even better at getting it out of the ground safely. We've screwed over and left huge debts for our kids, keep *something* in the bank for them to use in the future....
Aarontology: bdub77: Aarontology: Gas prices influencing someone's vote is a great way to find out who is a moron.I'm glad Obama called him out about that. Gas prices are tied to the economy and particularly the financial sector, you sink the economy you sink gas prices. No shiat gas is more expensive than when people were losing their jobs left and right and financial institutions were going under.Yep.It demonstrates a gross misunderstanding of supply and demand. Also, whenever someone brings up the price of gas on Inauguration Day, ask them what they were before the global economy collapsed.Spoiler: As high or higher as they are now.
