retarded: impaler: impaler: Noun, Verb, "ending in 'ed' word" (what's the name for those?

And "verb" should be "adjective"

It's too early to think and stuff.

Past participles.

Yes. More generally, usually in English both the past participle and the simple past of a verb end in -ed. In the sentence "He will be missed," "missed" is the past participle of "miss." In "I shot my gun but missed," "missed" is the simple past (which, in English, is the same thing as the preterite).

For some verbs, however, the simple past and the past participle are spelled differently. The past participle of "go" is "gone," for example, but the simple past is "went."
