I have no disagreements. They are all very pretty. But Michael Fassbender is the prettiest in the land IMO.

Why Tobey Maguire...do they need someone to kill off early? I have no issues with the grown-up version of Leo D and I've liked Hardy in the movies I've seen of him so far but Tobey Maguire...it's as bad as Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher.

JacksonBryan: Why Tobey Maguire

He can play paranoid/aggressive and angry very well. If the movie goes that route you might be impressed. I'm going off of his role in Brothers which isn't that great of a movie, but he was the only one really carrying it.

Also, Tom Hardy is a pretty OK actor, for a Romulan clone, anyway.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Tom Hardy could pull off an Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs when he's older? That whole brain sucking moment, I just think he could make that scene happen. He's got that eery calm.

I heard one reviewer on The Pop Culture Happy hour say this (paraphrase) to describe his distaste for him playing Bane in Dark Knight Rises: "And he wears this ridiculous face contraption which I must hold against Christopher Nolan because when you hire Tom Hardy the people want to see his mouth. I mean, that is a perfect mouth on a near perfect face."

And for those that may be familiar with that podcast, yes. The gay one said that.

My husband loves "DSL" (dick-sucking lips) on a woman. Thick, vivacious, lofty lips like Angelina Jolie.

Well, Tom Hardy has the male version of DSL. I'm sure gay men would agree with me.

Is it weird I swoon for him in both roles? Or... really any role he plays?

Hell, I had a sex dream about Bain after I saw Dark Knight.

He could play Freddy Krueger and I'm sure I'd still find it sexy.

Some men look really scary / intimidating while bald. Put some hair on him in that photo, clean him up a bit, and have him give a facial expression that isn't so psychotic, and suddenly you have sexy, sweet Hardy, only with more muscles.

I prefer scary bald Hardy. But that's just my opinion.

Bronson. Which is a mind bending bit of cinematography, in addition to showing off Hardy's thespian chops.

Bronson. It's on Netflix right now. Not an amazing movie, but you really see what amazing acting chops he has. When I first saw the movie I was thinking to myself, "We have another Daniel Day Lewis here".

Plus he shows up naked in quite a number of scenes. SCORE!

Forewarning about that movie. It is not for everyone. It reminded me of watching a very scary trainwreck and the story telling completely changes halfway through. Also if you don't like Drive because of the soundtrack, you might not like this one either.

The whole movie is basically a throw back to 70s/80s Kubrick influenced arthouse cinema.

Being Bond is the pinnacle of acting success, particularly now that they've gone back to Bond's roots as a sociopathic thug. Craig is brilliant. Clive Owen will be brilliant next. Tom Hardy after that, once he's aged a bit, will be brilliant as well.

Since I have not seen any of the Craig Bond films, I'll have to concede that you may be right about the quality of modern Bond. But when I hear of an actor possibly choosing to be the next bond, I still get thoughts of that actor being saddled with this type-cast role and not being considered seriously for dramatic character roles ever again.

But it's a career ruining role. It took years for Connery to recover from and Roger Moore never did. Daniel Craig may get a few indie titles in but he'll likely not have huge mainstream success outside of Bond for a while now.

Which is cool and all, particularly the audience scenes, but I just couldn't understand the flow of the movie or why his personality took such drastic overhauls. Which to your point, Kubrick movies always killed me with how they were paced.

That being said I'm the only person I know irl who likes the movie.

The problem with Bond is that they went from the Schcottish dude and progressively pulled him farther away from the thug that Flemming created. Thats how you ended up with foppish pussies like Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. He was Batman in a tux, pulling out a new magic gizmo every time something went wrong.

Craig represented a reboot in that he was just a stone killer that beat people down and farked all the hot chicks. Casino Royal was awesome. Quantum of Solace wasn't as good, but it doesn't deserve half the crap it gets. I'm dying for Skyfall to come out. Hardy plays "serious bad ass" very well, and would fit into the newer, tougher Bond.

I basically had to force my fiance to watch it with me because he was convinced it was going to be my typical "boring foreign movie" choice or something. He recalls liking it when he saw it but can't really remember anything about it all. I remember really relishing in the style and loving the pacing (but I also recall the story and the beats and think overall it was a good flick. not great but a good entry for arthouse canon).
