MItt fell for the first debate's "poor" performance by the President hook, line, and sinker.

For the third debate, I bet we see Wacky Inflatable Tube Arm Flailing Guy completely melt down into the T-1000 in molten steel, fighting for his life.

This was very much not a poor performance.

I'm sure both sides think they can dissect the speech given that morning carefully enough that it supports their position, whether or not they can convince anyone else of that. That being said, I thought it was a pretty poor point of moderating to not only allow one candidate to interject into the other's time but also to turn herself into an ad hoc fact checker. What she should have said was "Hold on, Mr. President, I'll give you time for rebuttal in a moment."

Barack spent two weeks convincing us the attack was a spontaneous demonstration resulting from the video.

And even Crowley admitted Rice and the admin were doing this. Now, one can debate "acts of terror" means terrorist attack. When you spend weeks spinning, you got to believe the lie.

Agreed, but considering Mitt's lead-up to that point, showing an utter disdain for moderation of any kind, and stomping on the moderator outright, Candy did the right thing and handed him his ass.

Agree 100%. He didn't tank the first debate for some strategy. He lost it. But he won this one. I don't know if things swing back, but I'll be happy with a stop the bleeding.

I'm not sure that makes it the right thing. And I think you can safely say both candidates showed marked disdain for moderation, but that hardly comes as a surprise. She seemed to give Obama more leeway, which I'm sure Republicans will complain about and need get much traction from. What they'll really regret is that is the moment that will stand out in people's minds and in the open of SNL. Prior to that it might have been Romney having to act as the moderator a explain the difference between a statement and a question to Obama. Now this will likely be the "I can see Russia from my house" of this election.

[link to that article where the former GOP chairman points out that the side that's complaining about the moderator is the side that lost]

I'm a swing voter. Obama thumped Romney tonight. He called him on the obvious BS, he was Presidential on Libya, and he made Romney frequently look peevish, whiny, squabbling, and spoiled.

I honestly thought the man was going to break a molar, he was clenching his jaw so hard when Obama spoke.

Look to see a hard bounce for Obama in the polls, and unless he utterly flubs the next debate, look to see that momentum carry right through the election. I think he won it all right here tonight, and I think the polls will show that by the weekend.

wouldn't that be something?

The White House spending two weeks spinning the story as not being pre meditated, ain't funny

Even Crowley said Romney was correct

MS. CROWLEY: He did call it an act of terror. It did as well take - it did as well take two weeks or so for the whole idea of there being a riot out there about this tape to come out. You are correct about that.

MR. ROMNEY: This - the administration - the administration - (applause) - indicated that this was a - a reaction to a - to a video and was a spontaneous reaction.

MS. CROWLEY: They did.

And then the audience CLAPPED. That's the kicker. So Romney knew in that moment, if he had any doubt in the seconds leading up to it, that he had completely farked-up his best memorized gotcha moment.

Also, people saying that "act of terror" has different meaning than "act of terrorism" are farking morons. "Hmmm, the president said this was an act of terror? So then it WASN'T terrorism!" lulzers at you dumbasses.

Nor was he talking about the events that he mentions two sentences later in the very speech. It was some sort of spontaneous speech in the Rose Garden about "terrorism in general".

The thing that blew my mind was on MSNBC when the guy was talking to the undecided focus group, and 3 of the 4 women in the group rationalized away the fact that Romney refused to commit to the idea of equal pay for women in order to remain undecided.
