What the hell is a nut candle? I've never heard of such a thing? Why would someone want a candle that smelled like nuts?

In before morons claiming that the kid is faking the allergy.

I love the smell of peanuts. I'd buy a peanut-scented candle.

FTA: It was only when her concerned mother Shannon Baldwin-Nguyen confronted the teacher, that Swanson admitted that she had continued to light the candle all semester but had blown it out before Nguyen entered the classroom.

Sure sounds like "bullying" to me. Definitely not just "insensitive" and/or "grossly negligent". Bullying is like, the totally trendy term for all sorts of confrontational type situations found in schools these days.

2012-10-17 06:19:42 AM
Hmm, I smell something, too.

I think it's... bullshiat.

Does that come in a candle, too? Because I think this girl's mom bought up the store.

Switch to twat-scented candles. Everybody wins.

Nut allergy?

So what would happen if I teabagged her?

She might not be completely faking it but if the very smell of nuts causes allergic reactions (which I doubt), she should be living in a bubble.

I guess bullied is the new key word. Everyone wants to think that if they have their feelings hurt now and days it's bullying.

2012-10-17 06:29:05 AM
bullied? How about 'was stupid'. She apparently thought that burning the candle when she wasn't there was ok and blew it out when she came to class.

To me that says she's an idiot, not a 'bully'. I mean bully she'd have bought more surrounded hte kid with them or whatever. Just seems more of someone not realizing that it was that bad/being stupid vs. wanton distress.

Presumably would release particulate of the oil into the air which causes her respiratory issues. Seems reasonable to me considering how thick the smell is from scented candles.

If the teacher had ordered the candle online, it would be a clear-cut case of Cyberbullying.

i'm actually gonna side with the teacher on this one. cause she looks like she's being gay for attention

2012-10-17 06:42:40 AM
I'd like to know why the teacher has a fondness for nut scented candles and why she's allowed to burn them in a classroom? Schools are so paranoid these days that I can't believe they allow it. At my nephew's outdoor Christmas pageant last year the school made them use battery powered candles instead of real ones.

I hate air fresheners/scented candles/cheap incense etc. I rather be in a room full of smokers. They all give me headaches and I avoid scented products when at all possible. Even my deodorant, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent is unscented.

And why are we such pussies when it comes to odors? Why do we have to mask every odor under the sun? I know it's a gazillion dollar business but it's really getting out of hand. To quote Elmer Fishpaw, "... this whole world stinks...so get used to it."

She's 16 bro. You'd probably do time.

why do all bullied kids look the same. like that sunken eyes gay look. like "i'm too gay to fend for myself"

2012-10-17 06:50:04 AM
As someone with tree nut allergies, I'd have gone straight to the principal, and if that didn't work I'd have thrown that biatches candle in the trash the next school day. I think the school board would side with me on it.

farking dumbass teacher.

Thanks, subby, for having "cute" actually mean "cute" -- unlike the way "smokin' hot" is used around here.

Though "smokin' hot" would have been reasonable in this case.

(16 is legal in Georgia!)

Scented candles and room fresheners etc can trigger allergic reactions in many people.

Is it standard practice for teachers to burn candles in class now? I went to school a long time ago, but the only thing that was lit in class was a bunsen burner.
