Five of us from the office had lunch comped by the restaurant manager today because it took so long. That's better than being shot at.

No, I noticed that, too.

Every once in a while you'll see a combined Chinese/Japanese restaurant. I don't get that, given the history of the last hundred years.

You never see combined Korean/Japanese places. At least I haven't.

Ah, a Japanese themed restaurant run by a Vietnamese fellow...

It's about as silly as an Italian restaurant run by someone with a name like Fritz Strauss.

I know some really good Chinese restaurants around Dallas, run by actual Chinese. And the Korean place is run by Koreans. And all the McDonalds' and Popeye's you need to speak spanish to get decent service.

Follow them outside, get license plate #, call cops and report. Was that so hard? I like vigilante justice as much as the next guy, but theft of services does not give you carte blanche to shoot people because you felt oppressed, slighted, or inconvenienced.

Restaurant owner sounds like the love child of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Ted Nugent.

I've never been to a Korean restaurant in the United States that DOESN'T serve sushi.

Very one-sided report. My guess is the other side goes something like this: Utter asshat of a customer (his twitter handle is DadyMacPimp, yes really) acts like a prick in the restaurant to a point where the owner asks him to leave. Asshat then tries to leave without paying, and owner stands behind his car so he can't back out and leave before police arrive. Asshat customer then tries to run owner over so owner fires round downwards into car to tell the punk to stop before he kills somebody.

The "victims" look like utter losers; owner employs people and pays taxes. By the time the dust settles owner will get charged with criminal mischief for damaging the guy's car, tops. Daddy who gave asshat the Volvo will pay to get it fixed.

Fark sushi.
If you charge $6.95 for a serving of 2 cents rice, 20 cents unprepared fish, and 10 cents seaweed that tastes so vile you have to drown it in soy sauce, colored horseradish, and pickled ginger, you should be the one being shot at.
But, hey... you know... sake bombs!

You left out the part where he tells the Vietnamese owner of the Japanese place to "go back to China."

Hey, you f*cking order a meal and eat it, you pay for it, no matter what the quality. You ate your meal, right?

I've eaten at some pretty crappy Ameri-asian restaurants. You pay for what you ordered and you leave. And you don't come back (that's called your "dollar vote").

They're no different from somebody trying to rob the place. I'd shoot 'em too...or maybe I'd just call the cops and wait the 126 minutes for them to arrive while locking the perps in the freezer for the time being.

God, that sounds like a lot of work. OK, just shoot 'em.

From what I understand (too lazy to go back and look) the one person actually didn't eat it. So that sounds pretty reasonable really, I mean if it was nasty enough that they wouldn't even eat it...ya.

I'm Canadian. I once tried to open an Irish/Scottish/English/German/Chinese/Aboriginal/Scandinavian/Russian/ African restaurant restaurant and I had to quit while I was ahead. All the people applying to be wait staff kept knifing each other in the waiting room on interview day.

But they were so, so gorgeous.

I can't imagine ever refusing to pay for a meal I ordered, even if I didn't like it. That's just rude. Unless the food is on fire, has a severed finger in it, dead rat, might make me sick, etc.

I doubt the whole family suddenly went crazy for no reason.

I think that's just because Korean places aren't as ubiquitous as Chinese places. Yeah, I usually avoid combos though, it just sounds like they couldn't possibly be marketing to anyone but clueless white people who think all of Asia is the same.

1966. Kowloon. Out of the Peninsula Hotel, around the corner, walk about 2 blocks: "Joe's Italian Restaurant". "Where's Joe?". Need I continue?
