Leaked Debate Agreement Shows Both Obama and Romney are Sniveling Cowards

One can't own his changing positions and one can't fight for shiat. So yeah, pretty much this.

2012-10-16 01:43:18 PM
No follow up questions? From anybody? Fail.

2012-10-16 01:43:19 PM
I think each candidate should be allowed to tase the other a one point in the evening. Any point. Via a large, red button labeled "Lies!"

2012-10-16 01:43:23 PM
In other words another campaign speech.

2012-10-16 01:43:26 PM
BORING Why even have a debate then?

2012-10-16 01:43:28 PM
The Commission on Presidential Debates - what a f*cking joke. Run by partisans that want to see only a debate between two parties.

This btw is my favorite:

"For the October 16 town-hall-style debate, "the moderator will not ask follow-up questions or comment on either the questions asked by the audience or the answers of the candidates during the debate...."

Or to rephrase, "the moderator has no balls..."

I'm not sure I'm even going to watch this debate as I've already made up my mind and knowing that most people watching the debates do not react violently to outright lies just pisses me off.

2012-10-16 01:44:37 PM
No mention of the bathing suit competition portion of the debates, that's very telling.

2012-10-16 01:44:55 PM
Headline FTFA: "Leaked Debate Agreement Shows Both Obama and Romney are Sniveling Cowards"

Sounds like it's full of reasonable arguments and well thought out points.

".....each candidate must state, We've allways been at war with eastasia."

2012-10-16 01:45:09 PM
Fark this noise. Can't we just skip the whole primary and campaign seasons, throw everyone into a giant Thunderdome, and follow the winner for four years?

2012-10-16 01:45:10 PM
They give a fark as long as the party donations keep rolling in.

2012-10-16 01:45:13 PM
Oh, boy, I hope the random cross-section of America who gets a chance to ask anything asks about topics like Medicare, taxes, and our friendship with Israel. Those are all subjects that politicians won't have canned riffs for and will be totally caught off guard by.

Moderator privilege.

2012-10-16 01:45:27 PM
Additionally, the candidates may not debate each other on any topic.

I don't care what rules they put in place as long as Obama calls Romney out on his lies and flip-flops

I don't know what else to call tonight, but it sure ain't gonna be a debate.

2012-10-16 01:46:39 PM
The only one I have an issue with is no follow up questions but I can see how it could lead to some audience member hogging time. The moderator should be allowed to ask follow ups. I have NO problem with banning pledges. The only pledge either of them ought to take is the oath of office.

How long do you think it will take before Romney ignores this agreement.

TFA: Most bizarrely, given the way the debates have played out, the rules actually appear to forbid television coverage from showing reaction shots of the candidates: "To the best of the Commission's abilities, there will be no TV cut-aways to any candidate who is not responding to a question while another candidate is answering a question or to a candidate who is not giving a closing statement while another candidate is doing so."

Well, there goes my idea:

Well that's no fun. I wonder if the producer will have SS breathing down his/her neck?

I hate townhall formats. They never ask important questions and they asl the wrong candidate their questions. it's usually stuff like " Mr. Obama, how will you personally help mormons struggling in this economy" "Mr. Romney, what are your views on Darfur"

What happened to the part where each candidate has to hammer as many nails into a board as he can in two minutes? Did they take that out?

Well, no... I mean... love, emotions in general, remorse, embarrassment... you know... all those things sociopaths lack.

/ if Mitt Romney hadn't been born filthy rich I absolutely believe that he'd have been a serial killer

Someone's been eating two slices of cheesecake at dinner and we know it's not the Mormon!!!

Actually, these rules are between the candidates.  The Moderator is in charge once things start.  And she's already indicated she will ask follow-up questions.

Its been standard for decades that the candidates cannot ask the other a question.  I wish they'd allow that.

Also, there really should be a physical component.  In honor of Hunger Games, I suggest an archery tournament.

It was hammering nails into a board with your penis, and the GOP thought the Democrats would have an unfair advantage.

Each candidate is only allowed 1 non-projectile weapon, and must close all statements by raising it into the air and screaming.

Based on your post I did. While I agree with the author's sentiment, I tend to avoid articles with headlines that read like Fark troll posts.

There will be one "boxers or briefs" question asked.

I think both men should have electrodes attached to their testicles during the debate. We need a super computer with the most advanced, fastest fact-checking software in the universe. Every time one of them tells a lie, he gets a shocked. We'll start with 10 volts and go up from there.

Wonder who will break the rules first. I'm guessing the one that is not Romney.

2012-10-16 02:04:56 PM
Yeah, we need not one, but two moderators for the debate.

Here are my candidates:

FTA: "No candidate may reference or cite any specific individual sitting in a debate audience (other than family members) at any time during a debate."

So in a town hall format debate, they're forbidden to reference audience members who ask questions? Someone didn't think this brilliant plan all the way through.

The Evil That Lies In The Hearts Of Men: How do you know he isn't?

I don't, but you don't have to be a serial killer to be a sociopath. Here are the classic signs along with a few examples from Mitt's life:

• Glib and superficial
Obviously. Although this applies to most politicians.

• Egocentric and grandiose
Everything about Mitt Romney's life to this point has centered almost exclusively around Mitt Romney. He believes he has every right to take whatever he wants whenever he wants (he made his wealth on that principle).

• Lack of remorse or guilt
You don't lie like Mitt without this trait.

• Lack of empathy
"47%" and "let them borrow the money from their parents". Tying his dog to the roof of his car.

• Deceitful and manipulative
Mitt Romney has held virtually every possible position on virtually every possible campaign issue so far.

• Shallow emotions
Funny how he suddenly developed a personality in early October, isn't it?

• Impulsive
Shaving that kid's head.

• Poor behavior controls
Shaving that kids head, dressing up as a cop.

• Need for excitement
Another one that probably applies to most politicians, but he seems to need to always have his fingers in something.

• Lack of responsibility
The lying, won't release his tax forms, won't make concrete statements of his beliefs and plans.

• Early behavior problems
The cop thing, the shaved head again.

• Adult antisocial behavior
Like many super-wealthy people, he views most of society's limits on his behavior as annoying inconveniences to his further success and takes numerous steps to skirt those limits in spirit, if not in a technical sense. For example: offshore accounts, hidden assets, questionable IRA/401k valuation, questionable SEC reports and tax filings.

/ I'm not a doctor, so I'm hardly qualified to diagnose such a thing, so I'll just say he's a dick and leave it at that

The well would be poisoned from the start once the fact-checking algorithm's initial search queries return wikipedia links that are being actively edited. But that would still be less disgusting than watching Honey Boo Boo.
