which is legal under Maine law but illegal at the federal level.

Federal law overrides State law, therefore the cops facilitated a Federal offense.

Well that stands to reason. Since they had to give it back there was no need to artificially inflate their drug bust numbers in order to keep the federal funding coming.

they even suspended the cop math, if those were illegal plants they would have been worth 30-50 thousand.

Legally yes, but realistically nobody gives a shiat. The dominoes are already falling, there's no way in hell they'll be able to keep up with 30+ states telling the feds to go fark themselves.

"After pulling out the moldy flowers, Davis said about 15 percent of his crop will be medicine-grade."

But I'm guessing the remaining 85% is still Doritos-grade, or better.

I thought it was because the crops lost to mold were IRL seized by these officers for bogging out the cruiser later.

I spent a couple summers in a town about a 20 minute drive outside of Ellsworth. It seems like the residents and the police have a more mature attitude regarding marijuana use than much of the rest of the country.

In my experience, it's nowhere near that high.

Exceptions are made for small towns on interstates that clearly have one and only one industry whose name rhymes with "reed snap."

I thought they only exaggerated the value of each plant when they keep them for themselves.

Not under state law. The cops would be in the wrong if they didn't follow state law since you know, they're state cops.

Yeah, that. I don't enforce federal law and would not be brought up on Federal charges if our state law violated a federal law.

That's because they're so close to eastern canada. Things are pretty lax here in, NB
