FTA: In an Xbox Live/YouGov poll, 72% of undecideds thought Biden was more truthful in last week's debate, 44% thought he won the debate (vs. 23% for Ryan), and 54% think Biden is more prepared to step in as president, vs. 21% for Ryan.

"Expect a regular, meaningful stream of results from the Xbox Live/YouGov poll between now and Election Day. Harnessing both the large sample sizes and repeated respondents, we are busy learning about our repeated users from our unbalanced panel that have switched over the last few weeks. We are also exploring the value of randomly generated subsamples of daily respondents. While, we embrace the oversampling we have hard to get demographics, like 18-29 males and young families."

First of all, who let that garbage go live?

Secondly, you're polling a demographic that likes to shout racial slurs during matches, teabag opponents, and generally abuse the English language. Enjoy your results.

The sad thing is that the Strong Romney supporters thought Paul Ryan was more truthful, 98% to 2%. Then again these are probably the kids that scream "I hate n****ers!!!" on xbox live.

Why would that surprise you? The right has been swallowing it's own bullshiat as truth for quite some time now.

We'll see how many of them actually get out of the house and vote, though. Halo 4 is being released on election day.

What's not to like?

The real Joe Biden seems like an ok guy who isn't perfect but is intelligent while not seeming like a total prick. The kind of guy you'd go and have a beer with an discuss politics or some other relatively serious topic.

Parody JoeyB seems like an ok guy who isn't perfect but likes to have fun. The kind of guy you'd go have a beer with at a sports bar and discuss who's gonna win the Super Bowl.

Biden'shiat the PR jackpot in the last four years.

Those people don't make up the entire Live demographic, and judging from the high pitched voices I'd say many of those same people aren't old enough to vote. You are also assuming that same crowd took a break from their teabagging, nd had the attention span, to watch the VP debate on Xbox Live.

There is actually a good portion of people on live that do pay attention to Politics, problem is that they don't talk about it much.
I've got at least six people on my Friends list who were watching the debates and gave genuinely intelligent opinions.

Considering most Xbox players don't remember a VP prior to Dick Cheney, you aren't setting the bar very high.

Not much competition there. In my lifetime, VPs have been Walter Mondale (for 2 days), George H W Bush, Dan Quayle, Al Gore, Dick Cheney & Biden. Not exactly a murderer's row of great men.

Al Gore was an outstanding VP. As a policy wonk he is and remains unparalleled. The problem the GOP has is that they can't point to a VP that was worth a damn except possibly Bush. Cheney was effective but only because he was evil. Quayle is a joke to this day. Bush was actually pretty good as a VP. I didn't like the Reagan Administration at all, but Bush Sr. was an effective veep.

Hell, Bush Sr., was a decent President. In retrospect, I don't agree with all of his policies, but he is a reasonable and intelligent man. You could work with the guy.

Agreed. I didn't like his administration's policies but he was a decent human being who was one of the last gasps of traditional conservatism. He was CINC when I was in the Army, too- I always respected how he handled the first Persian Gulf War.

Now his son, not so much.

Stay away from the FPS's, heck, make that stay away from Halo and CoD, and you'll generally find much less of that. Also, the 'party' feature of Live has also made it that idiots have less of an audience to spout too since most people aren't in the general chat anyway. Other than the occasional pothead playing Catan for the first time, the card and board games are downright civilized.

When I started playing on XBox Live a few years ago it was like what was described. It pretty much turned me off from the experience and I rarely gamed online since.

Last year I started playing Halo Reach and Black Ops online and was pleasantly surprised to find that most players weren't even bothering with a headset.

Maybe it's the game settings or time frame for when I play but it's generally a pretty quiet experience.

Also, I use my XBox for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and DVD's about 80% of the time. I prefer it for political coverage because it's just a live feed and there's no commercials or any opining. I can make up my own mind without a pundit or talking head telling me what I should be thinking.

Oh, I don't know. I wrote out a response where I just called him a stupid motherf*cker in various and sundry ways. But then I didn't bother to post it, because, I figured, who cares? So that's a kind of response. I spent, like, 30 seconds writing it and 1 second not posting it. So, that's something. I guess.

Personally, I'm glad those games exist. It keeps those littler gutter-sh*ts off of the other, better games. I fondly remember the days of Rainbow Six Vegas when those kids would come into a lobby, open their mouths, and get insta-booted. Those were wonderful times.
