No, that headline won't troll anyone....

Question... if you're not eligible for the post season, can you still get ranked in the offical BCS standings?

I know (or I think I know) that you can be included in coaches/AP/etc. polls.

Why? Are there tOSU fans on Fark?

2012-10-15 05:41:03 PM
Ohio State's not eligible for post-season play so they're not eligible for the BCS standings. They're #7 in the AP poll, though.

2012-10-15 05:45:58 PM
#5? Notre Dame should have lost to my Boilers... and we suck.

2012-10-15 06:31:24 PM
Well, Notre Dame, hated as they are by me, did have the #1 toughest schedule in college football this year. Must give props. so far.

#3 next weekend. Book it.

Coaches, no (because of the connection to the BCS standings).
AP, yes (because they're not involved in the BCS anymore).

I am a UGA fan and hate Ohio State, but for the first time in awhile I would say that Ohio State has a better team. UGA at 11th after getting destroyed by the only good team they played is dumb even by BCS standards.

2012-10-15 06:39:29 PM
Also hate Notre Dame but they go out and play some good teams, unlike most other teams that just take advantage of the extra game added to pay some school to come get an ass kicking. Props to them this year and they deserve where they are ranked.

Oh wow, N/M, I forgot OSU is on probation. The Penn State thing taking over the news made me forgot all about that.

Go Irish!

Now hopefully only two more heart attacks in Oklahoma and USC.

Well and the eventual loss to Boston College in some crazy inexplicable fashion. Bastards.

There are two revelant teams on their schedule an they haven't played either yet. There's also a complete avoidance SEC powers.

If Notre Dame, Alabama, and Oregon all go undefeated, who makes the title game?

Notre Dame is going to get clown stomped by Oklahoma and USC.

2012-10-15 06:46:23 PM
Notre Dame wouldn't win 5 games in the Big 12 this year.

Alabama vs. Oregon O/Notre Dame D.

I hate ND as much as the next guy but lack of SEC powers probably has to do more with the SEC. No way most of them would do a home and home with ND. Only Alabama and LSU might do it.

Um, NO - South Bend Community College doesn't play a grueling conference schedule so they really shouldn't be ranked.

Alabama v Florida/LSU. Even the luck of the Irish has its limits.

Has played pretty well so far...don't expect them to remain undefeated though

That's called you play them in a home game only. You only offer a home and home to programs you can respect - and South Bend Community College ain't one of them.

They're five foot nothin', a hundred and nothin', and they got hardly a spec of athletic ability.

It's ironic, referring to it as South Bend Community College, when most of the players in the SEC couldn't spell SEC if you spotted them all three letters, in order.

SEC fans tend to have a hard time understanding that other schools actually have a challenging curriculum.

Notre Dame's football tam has the highest graduation rate of any football team in the country -- 97% last year. Link

Notre Dame is currently ranked by US News as the 17th best university in the country. Link
