And here I thought Politico had picked up on the Trans Am Project. False advertising, subby.

Wish I had come up with the idea. Glad to see that the internet isn't all snark, trolls, cat pictures and porn.

That hurt my brain to try and comprehend.

Come on, you guys. You know they have to appear fair and balanced.

Yes, that's the stupidest thing in the world. Someone's stupidity should never have equal ranking with actual fact.

Oh god, the rowdy buddies one is so good.

In the middle of tonight's debate between Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Centre College security guards were forced to remove from the auditorium five of the vice president's loud and unruly friends: Darius, Blaze, Tank, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and Dozer.

A couple of our very own Farkers started this. It was a simple thread on Friday afternoon that took a life of it's own. Thanks to all the mods for bumping the threads all weekend, and for being helpful in the process.

The goal is to kick it up a notch today now that everyone is back in the office, pretending to work.

What is the point of this stupid shiat, exactly? Gen-Y hipsters and their unfunny projects. After all the time that's being spent on this inane thing, none of you involved in can ever criticize any kind of lamebrained fundraising event, ever.

Where it began

Uhm, it's not about your stance on either side of the aisle...it's just about taking the Uncle Joe meme that The Onion started, and taking it to a new level. Oh and several charities will benefit in the process.

Yea, $25,000+ for four charities is such a bad idea, let's go back to playing WOW and eating cheetos.

Well, I'm old as dirt yet I find this fundraiser hilarious & awesome. Maybe it's time to see a proctologist about that irksome stick up the ol' yazoo?

I see Politico as a latter day Newsweek or Time - completely middle brow stuff with little depth slanted to right-center old people. Except because it's this day and age those 'right-center old people' tend to be Tea Party types. You can see it usually in their comments sections.

I agree people are taking the meme way overboard (then again, the internet and Fark have been known to overdo memes, see "fail" and "facepalm"), but the car is going to be sold and the proceeds given to charity, so at least it is going to a good cause.

Politico is the "Inside Baseball" for campaign workers, policy wonks, and various other DC types. Tea party types (surprising number around NoVA/MD) actually hate Politico since it really only lives to cover "big gubbmint". They troll the comments apparently.

If it's slanted toward policy wonks and those in the know, it does a terrible job; it's often horribly misinformed and just generally addle-pated in its coverage. It does trend right, which is why it's amusing the Tea Party crowd detests it so much.

To all those who are shiatting on the idea that four very worthy charities are getting some attention thanks to a stupid but funny picture from a satirical website, and feel the need to post your disapproval, please realize that you are just showing how much less a human being you are from your words. Who cares if it has Joe Biden's name on it? It helps the Wounded Warrior project. It helps Doctors Without Borders. It helps the Biden Breast Health Institute. It helps GLAAD. If you have problems with helping the people helped by these charities, go elsewhere. I'm not going to wish ill on you; this is the only attention you'll get from me. Impersonal and dismissive. Nothing more, because none of you are worth the thought.

So anyway, here's the link again, so you can help Joe get his baby bird back.

Admittedly "policy wonks" is a stretch - more for those that view politics as sport: professional campaigners, etc. Like all trade rags, it's rarely completely correct. It doesn't trend right (or left), but trends towards those in power at the moment - they live for access and if they piss off people in power they are out of business, so they tend to portray those currently in favor/power better than those falling out of favor.
