I haven't seen any video of it, but seen plenty of the miss. I don't know. All I know is, I figured us good and dead when he lined up and took the kick. What a great game to be at. I finally saw them win, in person.

So Skelton and Kolb are just going to rotate all season as one fills in for the other when they're injured. Brilliant

Trap game

2012-10-15 09:44:00 AM
So we're now saying Arizona is a good team, good enough that they can even have a "trap game", a term that can only be reserved for good teams?

Also, Buffalo in 1st place WTF BW3.

So, as expected, the AFC East is a 4-way tie. (Whuuuhhhh?)

Does anyone actually want to win this division?

Great, Cardinals and 49ers stories, when there was an awesome beating of the Patriots AND a "u mad, bro" Twitter comment that got damn near all the Pats' fans panties in a twist.

Who, on this site, would want to read about good teams and internet trolling of Tom Brady?

Josh McDaniels is poison to the Cheatriots (in fact wasn't he at the center of spygate?) and BB needs to get a real defensive coordinator, any other coaching staff would have this talent-soaked team at 6-0 (also Brady is old, send him to his to childhood team SF so he can teach Alex Smith how to not choke at least until the super bowl)

the Jest are injured on defense and have been schizo on offense, they should be 1-5 so Tebow can become starter (as was foretold in the prophecies)

the Lolphins are a poor man's trap team, Tannehill is decent but their coach is so bad there's no way they end the season above .500

the Bills are still a mess, they're just plain lucky really, how's that giant Fitzpatrick contract working out for 'em?

If you check out his mentions on Twitter, it's even funnier, since he occasionally clowned on the buttmad Pats fans with their "three rings" and "yeah, but we lost the Super Bowl last year! It's because no one cares about the NFC West.

Take some other teams, like the Browns or the Bengals: off the top of my head, I could name zero defensive players on those teams.

Was a great game though. Brady did an excellent job passing the ball to receiving Seahawks players.

2012-10-15 10:25:19 AM
Fitz was his usual self... no long balls, midrange passes were too far in front or behind the receiver, and short passes were lofted and took forever to get to the target.
Coaching/playcalling was horrendous! WTF moments all game long...

Can't wait to see the Packers against the Rams next week, hopefully the Packers prove their O is back in rhythm. NFC West just looks too flawed for sustained playoff runs, but nonetheless they can beat any team on any day.

poughdrew: Honestly, never heard of the guy until now.

If you're a more hardcore football fan, he's been known as probably the best 2nd corner in the NFL - he was the only member of the Seattle secondary that DIDN'T make the Pro Bowl last year, but he's probably the best of the crew (he was a 4th round rookie who didn't play until almost halfway through the season last year).

As for the Browns, even I know of Joe Haden. And I really care not a whit for the Browns.

Jack Lambert's Missing Teeth: It's because no one cares about the NFC West.

And yet there are two stories about NFC West teams, just not the one that was most interesting. (hitting a 61-yarder to tie, hitting the upright on the potential game-winner, and blowing the game is somewhat interesting)

Headline misspells Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys. Otherwise, I agree.

2012-10-15 10:45:50 AM
On the play Kolb got hurt, it looked like a busted play. There is a running back lined up to the left of Kolb pre-snap. After the snap, Kolb turns to his left to hand the ball off for a run, but the running back has already stepped in front of Kolb and getting set to block a Bill pass rusher. Kolb's plan at this point is to just run back to the line of scrimmage to the right, where there was a brief opening. Had he thrown it away, he probably wouldn't have even been hit.

This one wasn't on the O-Line. Either Kolb or the RB ran the wrong play. The result is an injured QB.

//Patriots = 3 super bowl wins before getting caught cheating; Patriots = 0 super bowl wins after getting caught cheating.

///Even if the cheating had nothing to do with them winning their super bowl rings, I still think it's fricking funny the patriots will go down in history as the team who (currently) couldn't win a super bowl without cheating.

I'm looking at the Browns D depth chart and besides Haden, and D'Qwell Jackson i only know because I went to Maryland, these other guys are so anonymous. Looking at their names, I still don't know who they are.

Cincinnati is a little better. I won't remember any of the Bengals D guys tomorrow, though.

While I fully support the hilarity in that article, let's ask Matt Hasselbeck how well bold predictions go for the Seahawks.

Yeah, I winced when I heard that live. But then I kinda appreciated that he had the balls to say it, even though he didn't deliver. It's way more fun when the team talks sh*t AND backs it up.

Like apparently Aaron Rodgers was before the Houston game.

I couldn't believe that he said that. I thought there could be an upset in this game (especially after last week) but holy crap what he said is utter face palm territory if he doesn't throw 6 touchdowns. I really can't wait for that Rams game. finally the Pack can be .500+ this season.

Hasselbeck and the Paul Allen call of Favre's interception are the 2 lulziest moments in NFL history, in my opinion. Gus Frerotte (I think) concussing himself after scoring by headbutting the wall is a close 3rd.

Do you have a link about Rodgers? Would like to read it as I had to DVR the game and did very little NFL related activities yesterday. :(

Well, he did say it just to the announcers, who didn't really bring it up until he'd started pouring it on.

He's now played four of the best defenses in the league (actually, the top four according to FO prior to this week) in six weeks and leads the NFL in passer rating and passing TD. Imagine what would happen if he were having a good year.

Yeah, I didn't realize that the conversation was exclusively with the announcers. Colinsworth said Rodgers had a 10 minute rant ready the moment Chris brought it up. I'm proud of Aaron for being one of the few people capable of shutting Colinsworth up. He included that they are being compared too often to last season's performance and exclaimed how doing that is not easy.

The Bills need a real QB. If they had even a decent QB, this game would have been a blowout. The Bills receivers were running around open ALL GAME! But freaking Fitzpatrick was missing them by a mile. You can see Stevie Johnson's demeanor after every play. Each game he is getting more and more frustrated, because he's making cornerbacks look silly, but Fitzpatrick can't get him the ball.

This team is so close to being good it hurts... But the team has very little faith in Fitzpatrick (for good reason) and it shows.

the Cheatriots getting beat by Cheatin' Pete really doesn't deserve discussion

besides, as soon as Tebow gets the starting job in New York BB and TB aren't going to another superbowl, and Pete will find a convenient exit to the NCAA before the Seahawks ever win the NFC West

Yeah, it's kinda retarded. "Hey, you posted the best regular season in NFL history by a QB last year and a 15-1 record (because that's so common)...why aren't you exceeding that level of production this year? You're kind of disappointing."

Gotcha. Ya, that has been a theme of many of the comments during interviews with players and coaches, "You guys DO realize that what we did last year had never been done before, right? If that is your expectation, then you are an idiot."

//I, of course, expected the Packers to exceed the level of play from last year. I was clearly wrong and have it on good authority that I am an idiot.

They're probably boned going forward anyway, if only because of injuries. Lost two LBs last night.

That hit on DJ Smith pushed me right over to the side of the Texan's O-line are dicks movement. I haven't heard how bad the injuries are and the Pack is already down quite a few players, but I found McCarthey's comment about how the defense is unchanged by that both stupid and reassuring.
